Qtr 2 2013 Workout Routine
They say it's always good to change your workout routine regularly. I usually change mine every 3 months so April signalled the next set of workouts.
For this quarter I shall be working a 3 on 1 off routine.
Day 1 - Legs
Day 2 - Chest and Back
Day 3 - Shoulders and Arms
Day 4 - Rest
Repeat
I shall post the individual workouts up later. I have almost completed 2 rounds of the above, and yeah I am feeling the change.
Supplements I am using at the moment are as follows:
Protein shakes - As and when needed depending on my protein intake from food, but definitely straight after workout.
Creatine - Helps maximise strength and power
CLA - To help lower bodyfat
BCAA - Helps develop muscle mass and prevent tissue breakdown
Multivitamins - Just the standard one a day capsules, currently using one with cod liver oil
ZMA - Aids recovery and muscle repair. Helps promote deep, restful sleep
Tuesday 12th February - Chest and Biceps
Had a pretty good day at work, mainly due to the fact I work at a different office on a Tuesday where the atmosphere is much more pleasant.
Finished work and headed over to pick my part time gym buddy Ronnie up. Grabbed a drink then headed for the gym.
The schedule:
10 min gentle warm-up and stretches
Flat bench dumbell press, 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Incline dumbbell flyes, 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Cable chest press (decline movement), 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Pec deck flyes, 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Dumbbell curls, 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Barbell preacher curls, 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Reverse grip cable curls, 4 sets of 8-10 reps
21's, 4 sets
Ronnie was going light due to an injury, his op in in 2 weeks, then I will be flying solo for a few months. Good job I am cheeky enough to ask a stranger for a spot.
Had a real good pump all over afterwards, Tshirt was definitely stretching over chest and arms. Soon be time to go up a size, new wardrobe... this hobby is far from cheap!
