People out here still literally saying that Rose Quartz was the villain despite the whole point being that she was a flawed person that was idolized by the people around her. That she was idolized by Steven until he slowly discovered that she wasn’t the perfect image he had envisioned her as in his mind based on her friends and his fathers stories, but a person like any of the other gems or people in his life. We have to remember that we saw her character growth in reverse, the actions of Pink Diamond were hers but she had literally developed into a different person by the time that she had met Greg and had Steven. Was the symbolism of a whole new name and face and personality not enough to queue you in to the fact that she left behind the identity of a petulant child and became a fully realized and mature being trying to do her best for a planet she cared deeply about? Her whole character is symbolized by growth and change. The whole theme of Steven universe is that people can and do change. And Rose constantly haunts the narrative, reminding us of this.
