An introduction of a zed-stack ocean goer only to be killed in his own episode. Talk about cruel. I enjoyed this episode a lot because it answered a question I've been wanting someone to take on, what if an ocean goer did join the zeros? My instant gut reaction would be to say they would have a major character flaw that would make them fit in with the zeds, and I was right. Zain in this is extremely strong and he knows it, he's not humble about it like Hercules, it's his personality and it ends up being the death of him when he lets it get to his head when he joins a fleet that the majority are smaller than him, thinking he knows better even over Zorran. He seemed young, like almost younger than Zip levels young, a new build maybe 2 to 4 years old. Granted he was mature but it makes me think being an ocean goer comes with the package of being mature on some level, so he doesn't listen to seniority and 100% would have listened to Zorran from there on out if he had survived, and probably have the same level of respect to him that Zorran has for Hercules as we find out in the story. Overall I think Zain would have been an amazing contribution to the zeds if only he had survived, but alas, he now serves as a good warning story to those less foolish who come into the port.

This! I imagine it's like a taboo topic among the A4s on what they look like under their shells. You just don't mention that their streamlining isn't actually connected to them in a way you'd probably expect, and that it needs to come off for maintenance. Also don't mention that their faces aren't actually their smokebox doors, that those parts lift up and their smokebox is just behind it.

He’ll never be the same and neither will I. Something about that first image is just… unsettling. It almost looks like the engine is the process of being scrapped.

Hey jayde I read your post on how you liked the engine turned human trope it's really interesting with your headcanon on what they would do as humans. as a fellow enjoyer of the troupe it got me thinking

What's your opinion on my take on the troupe? Is there anything you think could be expanded opan?

I adored you take on the engines actually becoming human, and it fit in with your au nicely, that their technically not their own bodies but corpses.

As for the actual human features you gave them? I like Thomas's design, he looked so smol! Like I wanted to boop his nose so badly! His hair looks so floof! He a zombie bean boi. As for any expansions? None really come to mind, giving Thomas something like a common lifetime condition just doesn't suit his portrail. The best I can think of is if you pulled inspiration from his basis's design faults, like his body can't keep water in it very well so he has to have a drink more often than the others.

Edward I have no comments about, you can't add on to perfection. Smart move to have his leg amputated.

Henry is a personal nitpick, I didn't think he needed so many medical conditions. Maybe something like asthma or a heart murmur would have sold his connection to his engine self, leaning more towards heart murmur thought, his old shape he has the murmur, and his new shape is him after surgery of getting the murmur fixed.

Gordon I have no notes on ether, he works nicely. Although maybe something to show for some of the episodes in the model series like in the episode "A better view for Gordon", maybe Gordon sustained some facial problems, like broken front teeth, breathing issues through his nose, or maybe he can't see to well after the accident and has to wear glasses.

James I would have given a prosthetic arm on the side he had his crash on, maybe he also has some nerve damage to his hands from smashing into the tar tanks.

Percy is fine, he's like Thomas. Leave the boi alone.

S'all I gotta say really, but I like how you really humanised the engines in your series, sometimes stacking one condition on top of the other to make their lives extra difficult.
