Somehow him and (name) were best buddies, the two clicking instantly despite being polar opposites.

you should have. it was your body, for god's sake, then why did you ignore it when you missed your period for a month? how did you ignore the morning sickness, especially when you ate bananas for breakfast?

how did you ignore how much needier you were, or moodier or even more sleepy than normal?

it was your work's fault, you were sure of that. because even if your boyfriend, haitani ran, was an executive of the biggest crime organization in japan, you still wanted to earn your own money — and have a bit of normalcy on your life, even if all your friends were gangsters and murderers while you worked at a big multinational company.

you blamed the strangeness in your body due to the stress of your work, and neither you or ran thought much about that. he teased you, yes, especially when he threatened to eat a banana in front of you, knowing that now the smell of your favorite fruit brought only despair for you. you, on the other hand, would always try to beat him because of that, only for what was supposed to be you punishing him, was him pleasuring you.

but when you complained to your best friend, shiba yuzuha, over brunch about what was happening, and she jokingly asked if you weren't pregnant, everything started to make sense. however, as much as you have ever wanted to be a mom, what about your boyfriend? you two weren't even married, and he had such a dangerous job, what if he didn't want to go through these next steps yet?

sensing your distress, your best friend tried to calm you and made sure she was going with you to the doctor on the next day to see if you were pregnant or not, but she was sure ran would be thrilled with the news. he loved you, and he was so caring towards you and his brother — she was 100% sure he would cry tears of joy to know he was going to be a father.

and even now, cuddling with him on the expensive couch of your shared penthouse, you were still worried. and ran noticed that too, cradling your face between his large hands, a worried frown on his handsome face. “what's bothering you, pretty girl?” he asked, and you averted his eyes.

“it's nothing, babe.” he just arched a brow and you sighed. ran knew how to read you like an open book, and you couldn't lie to him. “what do you think about starting a family with me?”

ran almost laughed. you sounded so worried about something that he couldn't wait to happen.

he smiled down at you, releasing your face and maneuvering you to sit on his lap, your face facing him and your knees on the side of his tighs. “i would love to, y/n.” he answered, drawing circles on your hips, and you sighed relief, nuzzling your face on his neck. you pampered some kiss there, listening to him talk. “i can't wait to have a mini me running around here and causing havoc during the meetings.”

“as if i would let our child go with you to the headquarters.” you stated firmly, feeling the rumble of his chest while he chuckled.

“why not, though? i'm sure everyone would be delighted to have a mini me brightening their day.” you could feel ran's pout, and moving again to face him, you flicked his forehead.

“because it's a child, ran! and i don't want haruchiyo offering pills to them as if it's sweets.” sanzu was one of your best friends, and even if you feared that he could do that, you knew he would be a good uncle to your child. rindou too, and you couldn't wait to see their reaction when you told them the news.

“hey, why the long face?” you heard ran ask, and you hid your face in the crook of his neck again.

his scent and warmth were like a lullaby — your favorite lullaby, actually — and the sleepiness that was plaguing you overcame your body, and ran just smiled at your sleeping form cuddling him. but he was curious about your behavior, and he just hoped that what he was thinking was the truth.

tomorrow came, and you woke up to your boyfriend giving you a forehead kiss.

“why didn't you wake me?” you asked with a hoarse voice, not remembering how you arrived at your shared bed. ran probably carried you there, because the last thing you remembered was falling asleep on top of him.

ran smiled down at you. “you were so cute sleeping, can you blame me wanting to look at your sleeping form before going to work?” you rolled your eyes affectionate at him, but you could feel your cheeks heaten up. “and yuzuha texted me, she said that today you will accompany her to the doctor.” you hummed in agreement, slowly getting up from the bed. “that's why you were so quiet last night?”

you nodded, because you knew ran would know you were lying if you used your voice to agree with his words. because the doctor wasn't for yuzuha. you hugged him, burying your face on his sturdy chest. “good day at work today, love. don't die on me, okay?” on us.

“did i ever let you down?” you giggled at his words, pecking his lips lovingly. “i love you. tell me how the doctor went for yuzuha, okay?”

you pecked his lips once more, and then kissed his cheek. “hmmhm. i love you too, ran.” sou answered, going with him to the front door. with one more kiss to his lips your boyfriend went to work and you sighed. it had been ages since you had a day off and, since the doctor’s appointment was after lunch, you had at least half a day to do whatever you wanted.

it was easy to find something to do at your penthouse, but after a bubbly bath and a breakfast without bananas, you started to daydream about your future family with ran. you wanted the kids to have his eyes — how cute a child would be blinking their big violet eyes to you? you didn’t even know if you were truly pregnant, but you were already putty at your child’s hands. you already started to look for children’s room decorations ideas and even cute clothes online and, when yuzuha texted you she was waiting for you outside, you had everything planned — from how your child’s room would look like, to the clothes they would wear.

“nervous?” she asked while you two were in the way, and you smiled sheepishly at her.

“i talked with ran about having a family yesterday.” she gasped out loud, and you took that as her curiosity to know what happened. “he said he can’t wait to have a mini him running around.”

yuzuha gave you that famous look of hers of ‘i told you so’ and you rolled your eyes at her. “i told you that you didn’t need to worry. ran is a simp for you, y/n.”

you hummed and rested your face in the car’s window, watching as she parked. “but we aren’t even married yet.” you pouted, and yuzuha patted your hand.

“i’m sure this will give him the last push he needs to propose to you.” she reassured you, and you smiled, grateful to have such a wonderful friend at your side. you knew she was always busy managing her brother's career — who your boyfriend beat up once when they were teenagers, ran told you himself — but yuzuha still managed to make time for you.

you played with your fingers while you and yuzuha waited for the doctor to call you, one of her arms protectively around your shoulders. the appointment went smoothly, but the doctor asked for an ultrasound, to make sure you were pregnant — and for you to make a little surprise for your boyfriend, too.

the cold feeling of the gel on your belly made you giggle, but both you and yuzuha knew it was because you were anxious. you already had your blood collected and while you awaited for the results the ultrasound was going to be made, and you couldn't wait to see if you were pregnant or not.

you closed your eyes when the doctor started to scan your belly, but yuzuha surprised — yet amazed — gasp made you nervous. “what is it yuzu?” you asked nervously, but instead of your best friend answering, it was the doctor.

“congratulations, mama. you're pregnant with twins.”

pregnant with twins? that was more than you could think, but you were so happy. you cried happy tears to yuzuha after you got a print of your babies but, unfortunately, it was too soon to know their gender. you hoped for two girls, or a girl and a boy, because you sure you wouldn't have peace if it were two boys — especially if they were mini rans.

yuzuha left you home with the promise of gifting you and your babies designed onesies made by her stylist friend, and you hid the print of the ultrasound with your panties, knowing ran wouldn't be snooping there. you still didn't know what you should do to tell him about the big news, finding some ideas you saw in the internet too grand for you. you wanted something small and intimate.

exiting the shower, dressed in a cotton t-shirt that belonged to your boyfriend, you were surprised to see him seated on the edge of the mattress, back facing you. strange. you didn't hear him arriving.

“ran?” you asked cautiously, but that was your boyfriend. no one else had the left half of their back tattooed like him.

he turned around, his lips on a thin line. you started to worry — what could've happened? but then your eyes traveled south and you saw the print resting on his hands. “what is this?” ran asked quietly, and you didn't remember when it was the last time you heard such emotion lacing his voice. “is this a sick prank you and sanzu are trying to do?”

“no! of course not.” you shook your head negatively, walking and sitting next to him. you watched as his jaw was clenched, and it looked like he was on the verge of crying. taking one of his hands and resting it on your belly, where your babies were, you smiled. “i didn't want to tell you until i was sure, but... i'm pregnant.”

it was as if those words flipped a switch on him and your boyfriend started to cry as if he was a little kid and you hugged him, your own eyes tearing up at the sight.

“i love you.” ran managed to say between sobs. he wanted to stop crying and pamper your face with kisses, thanking you for making him a father, but he was too emotional to do that. the idea of being one had always been distant for him — his own father not being present for him and rindou when they needed him — but he was used to taking care of others. rindou, kakucho and even haruchiyo. it was almost natural, but he never noticed he wanted a family before you entered his life.

you cupped his face between your hands, wiping the tears falling from his eyes. one of ran's hands instinctively found the soft skin of your belly again, rubbing circles on it, and you smiled at the gesture. “do you want to talk with our babies?” your voice was quiet, but filled with love, as if you were afraid to break the intimate moment you two were in.

“b-babies?” ran asked dumbfounded, and you chuckled at his reaction — eyes widened and mouth slightly agape. “there's more than one?”

you nodded. “it's twins.” you announced, and ran's smile could rival the sun and the stars in all galaxies. you giggled as your boyfriend rested his head in your lap, lifting up your shirt to look at your skin. you could see the adoration dripping from his eyes, and you noticed you were worried over nothing. you giggled when he kissed your tummy.

“hi, babies, this is your dad.” he started, while your fingers found their way to stroke his purple hair. “i love you two already. i hope you don't give mama a harder time than you are already giving.” his eyes flicked to yours and you hummed, encouraging him to continue. “i still need to marry her before you two are born, alright? so stop giving her morning sickness.”

you blushed at his words. “are you proposing?”

“not yet.” ran explained, head still on your lap. “but we'll need to marry fast before the little ones are here. so prepare your best dress, pretty girl. we're going to have dinner at your favorite restaurant, and when we're back, you'll be my fiancé.”

At first Mikey would think you're kidnapped by his enemies and held for ransom, and send his men on a wild goose chase to find you but after a week without any contact from said kidnappers the boy fell into a very heavy depression state.

The executives experienced hell for months with trying to make sure Mikey didn't end up killing himself because he lost you.

Fast forward to one or two years and Sanzu, for once, didn't give a fuck about slamming the doors open as he entered Mikey's room, he just had to announce that a few of their man caught sight of you, his king will finally try to live again.

Mikey has never dropped everything so fast, preparing everything to go pick you up.

His emotions running high and mixed with his dark impulses Mikey didn't know if he should hug you when he sees you first or pull the trigger and kill you.

He'd grin and playfully point the gun at your child.

"I want 5 more of these little mutts, don't worry, if you behave I behave, it's only fair~... But if you ever pull some bullshit like these again I'm shooting all of them dead."

Kakucho knew better than to save some random mother and son duo that his men were forcefully pulled away from the area because Bonten will have a meeting with an enemy gang there, but when he saw the son jump in to protect his mom, and getting knocked out in the process, he had to step in.

And once he did Kakucho felt a lot of emotions after seeing your face. Immediately ordering everyone to leave as he pulled you in a tight hug.

When you squirmed around and kept looking at your son Kakucho did so too.

He let you go and carefully picked him up.

Kakucho would basically order, tightly hold you and staring at you with crazed eyes that you've never seen on him as he started to pull you towards his car.
