Ian freaking Dietrich

This guy is the shit and he always gets forgotten about! He, Rico and Mitabi are badass yet never receive the same amount of credit as other people in the series. Like come on, all three of them were some of the best in the Garrison, they are literally part of the Elite group for crying out loud! All three of them should be worshiped as fucking heroes for how brave they were! 

Seriously it’s like the Garrison is the Hufflepuff of snk, never receives enough credit yet are actually awesome!

Back to Ian…

This fucking guy is the reason most of the shit during the battle for Trost got done. Without him no one (except Mikasa and Armin when he arrived) would have stuck around to protect Eren while he was passed out in his titan form. He was constantly encouraging his comrades to fight on and was willing to give it all up to help protect humanity. He trusted Mikasa’s judgment and knew Eren was valuable to humanity and continued to fight even though it put his life in danger.

He tried to stop this shit no one likes

from firing them canons by fighting for Mikasa’s case and saying she was too valuable to lose.

He knew what had to be done and even though he was probably terrified he carried on anyway, putting on a brave face to help others with him to carry on. 

He knew sacrifices had to be made yet he still never took peoples lives for granted!

He remained strong in a terrifying situation and asserted his authority as a leader in order to help get the job done.

He (along with his comrades) used themselves as bait in order to protect Eren, their friends were all dying around them yet he lead them all and gave them the strength to fight on!

And lets not forget his death. I literally get tears in my eyes every time I watch this scene, he literally has one of the saddest deaths in the whole series.

Ian physically pulled his comrade out of a titans mouth and saved his life, another example of how he was selfless and put others before himself. Only then for him get bloody eaten right before the wall was sealed. Ian never got to live long enough to witness humanities first victory but he sure as hell was one of the main reasons they did win! 

To conclude, Ian Dietrich is the shit and he should be recognized as a complete badass and given the same amount of attention as the other characters who have died in the series. 

Ian Dietrich is not some minor character who has little relevance to the plot, his is actually the person who gets most of the shit done during the battle for Trost.

Without Ian Dietrich many more people would have died and the hole in the wall probably wouldn’t have gotten sealed!
