Well everyone...my sweet baby sister that I have been talking about can finally get a break and be discharge starting tomorrow but they will be keeping her for a week or possibly longer starting next month because she is on a ventilator right now because she had trouble breathing on her own..
I have asked before but I do understand everyone is probably struggling right now, but I have to try again because we really need help getting out in here before our bills will stressed us more and my sister's will face another operations next month.
Please...any amount will help so very much. I hate asking for help but I truly and honestly dont know what else to do. If anyone can please help in any way possible, we would greatly appreciate it... **URGENT** Rent is due today and I’m still short
Hey everyone, rent and the remainder of my security deposit is due today and I’m still $570 short. I’ve been attempting to crowdsource this for the month of July but I’ve been unsuccessful. Long story short, I was homeless in June found a place in July and thought my life was going to get better but I got hit with garnishments (in my state you do not need to be served for garnishments, if they can’t locate you). Gentrification creates a stifling homogeneity in urban areas that makes it less suited for the everyday lives of the lower class and more suited towards the leisure and tourism of those with expendable income.
An old, decrepit laundromat gets replaced by an upscale bakery? And people are mad? It’s not that the poor hate organic vegan cupcakes, it’s that most of us don’t have a way to do laundry in our own home.
Run-down corner stores replaced by hand-made designer clothing boutiques? We don’t hate your eco-fabric shawl, but I can’t eat that for dinner after work like I could have a can of beans I grabbed from that corner store when I don’t have time to take the bus to the real grocery store after work.
What gentrification brings in and of itself is not typically bad, it’s that gentrification brings institutions of leisure and pleasure and makes it so that the poor have to go farther out of their way for basic necessities. It turns low-income living spaces into local tourist attractions. It can even create food deserts by putting restaurants, grocery stores, etc. in that the majority of the lower class cannot afford.
Imagine if someone totally renovated your house and turned it into a mini theme park - they took away your sleeping space, where you prepare food, where you clean yourself and get ready for your day, and replaced it with things that will please people who are visiting, who have their own homes they can go back to, who are here not for their entire life but just as a distraction from their otherwise mundane existence. It’s not that you hate theme parks, it’s not like you’ve never been to a theme park and vow to never visit one again. It’s just that you need to live! To survive! And the leisure of those who have more than you should not invalidate your existence.
I don’t understand how people are treating the d*pp vs heard trial as entertainment or like it’s just celebrity drama when we are watching the full force of misogyny unleashed in real time on a scale that I don’t think I have ever seen before, enabled by millions. It doesn’t even matter who wins any more, this is going to affect victims of DV for years to come
my non-housing money post isn’t getting anywhere (too many notes!), so i’m remaking it! currently stranded at my grandmother’s with no spare cash for groceries (she won’t let us use hers….), and not enough clothes. any help is appreciated!

hii! im collecting donations again cause i’m broke af and i can’t afford to pay rent and medication for depression, which is making everything hard for me. i can barely get out to go to uni and im missing out on so much study. i also feel physical pain which is making it really hard for me to just do normal tasks.
my parents will probably have to pay for university fees because of me not completing my exams - due to depression and depressive episodes - so if u have like 2$ to spare id really appreciate !! even a tiny reblog counts.
also shoutout to all the people suffering from mental illness or any kind of physical pain and disorders. i feel you. i know what it feels like to just not have the strength anymore to do simple stuff, like getting out of bed and staying hydrated, or even eating. i know how hard it can be and it makes me sad to know that most of our sanity depends on money - money which people in some countries don’t have access to. so i feel you, and i really hope we’ll get out of this !
