Research Shows that Zutara Would Have Been the Ideal Friends to Lovers Dynamic

When I joined the ATLA fandom, a common trend I’ve seen used to discredit Zutara was the belief that upon transitioning from a platonic relationship to a romantic one, Zuko and Katara would immediately become The Worst ™ for each other. It’s quite the stretch, and the Zutara fandom nearly unanimously recognizes that. Still, since the attacks have yet to cease even 15 years after the show’s first release, I’d like to add my two-cents on the subject, along with a reference to actual research that is much harder to dismiss.
