The Boyz When Their S/O is Sick

Sangyeon:

Would 100% lecture you for letting yourself get sick as if it would help anymore. And would repeat it whenever he comes back into the room for whatever reason. Sangyeon would eventually stop, but only because he sees it’s annoying you. He would run your usual errands for you and would use his leader-status to get the others to babysit you. Next thing you know, Sunwoo’s sitting at your bedside playing on his switch while you’re trying to nap.

Speaking of; anyone disturbs your nap and they’re dead.

As he goes out to buy you heating pads and snacks, Sangyeon would also stop by some shops to get you a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates just to brighten your day up a little. And yes, he’d get a custom made bouquet from a flower shop, not the wilting ones in grocery stores that are always on sale. Why? Cause he’s a MAN and you’re his baby. You deserve the best. And he will do whatever the power in his pocket can take to get you the absolute best.

He’d stop by his mom’s and grab some home-cooked food for you (and some vitamins she’d send back with him) cause he’d be too paranoid to cook for you in case it didn’t turn out how he expected (also cause he didn’t wanna cook for the ten other people in the house). He would personally make you tea and deliver it breakfast-in-bed style when you wake up. He’d also whisper sweet nothing’s in your ear as he spoons you close to him to reassure you that even though you claim you look crusty, you’re still the most beautiful person in his eyes.

If anyone walks in while you’re spooning, he wouldn’t care at all and would have a casual conversation with them as he props his chin on the nape of your neck, his breath tickling your face. Once the person leaves, Sangyeon would pull you even closer and trace patterns on your abdomen as you doze off.

Jacob:

Very worried, but very productive.

Wouldn’t let his nerves show very much, especially when he gets the hang of what he’s doing. Would be so incredibly gentle and would treat your skin like literal glass that would shatter in his hands if he was too harsh. Puts so much care into every touch and caress on your skin and gives you massages for your aching muscles. He would spend hours cooking you a proper home-cooked meal to help make you feel better and it wouldn’t be the best thing ever, but the sheer effort he’d put into it was enough for you to love it.

Draws you a bath with special oils, scented candles, and rose petals. Would help you into the bath and wash you or just keep you company by narrating a book he read on a chair next to the tub. Of course, there would be nothing sexual about his touches or presence; just intimacy and comfort. He’d help you out eventually and brush your hair for you, speaking softly about how beautiful he found you. He’d sing you to sleep as you laid on his chest with his arm wrapping around your waist.

Even if he wasn’t tired, he’d still close his eyes and just enjoy the intimacy of napping with you. And if he really can’t fall asleep, Jacob would open his eyes and brush strands of hair out of your face as he admires your sleeping form. He’d start to daydream about his future with you. All the details from how many kids you would have to what colour the master bedroom would be.

Younghoon:

He would be fucking terrified when he finds out. Like you’d think you told him you had cancer by the way he reacts when you tell him you have a cold. Runs all the way to your house in the rain like some sort of kdrama and shows up at your doorstep breathing super hard. He’d kneel against your bedside while holding your hand delicately in between both of his and ask if you were going to be alright.

Once you assure him you’d be fine, he’d still cry in empathy for you and you’d have to console him even though you were the one in bed. And even then, he’d be super gloomy and sensitive until you got better. BUT, would never be caught dead leaving your side. He’d wait outside the bathroom door when you go to pee cause “What if you fall through the toilet seat and I’m not there to rescue you?”

Just super clingy. Not good for personal space, but amazing for cuddles. He’d kiss you on the tip of your nose as his arms wrapped around your neck, pulling your heads closer as you laid down next to each other. No matter how much you reassure him, he wouldn’t be comforted until you were physically in better condition. He would ask if you were hungry every ten minutes and would pout if you said no. Claims he doesn’t care if he got sick as a result of your constant intimacy and actually gets sick. Whines for you to take care of him cause it’s his turn to be the princess; and of course you do cause it’s Younghoon and he’s adorable.

Hyunjae:

You could so much as sniffle around this man and his teasing façade drops instantly. He leans down to look you in the eye to ask if you’re feeling okay, usually with his hands cupping your face, and no matter how you answer, he’s dragging you home and babying you for the rest of the day. Not that you complain though; it’s Hyunjae.

Even while you’re laying down all crusty-looking in bed, he only has heart eyes for you. He’d give you some soup and even though it’s too salty, you still eat it all because of how much care he put into making it. And also cause he was spoon-feeding you the whole bowl so either way, you couldn’t say no.

He’d debate on whether or not to cuddle you but seeing you all curled up in your burrito blanket made his heart melt, so he took one for the team and laid facing you with a protective arm around your waist. 100% would either give a stink eye to or complain at anyone who barges in and interrupts your cuddle session unless it’s Jacob, Sangyeon, or Changmin (cause SURPRISE, you’re dating a wuss) but mostly Jacob.

Juyeon:

4lifer. The epitome of “in sickness and in health”

This man doesn’t give a flying fuck if he gets sick from being too close to you (secretly hopes that he does so you can take care of him too cause he’s an attention whore wbk) and would try to kiss you every now and then and you can’t figure out if it’s because he actually forgot you were sick or if he just doesn’t care.

Carries you bridal style everywhere around the house and would insist you don’t exert any unnecessary energy when your strong boyfie is here for a reason. Would also just get an ego boost out of carrying you everywhere and mentioning how light you are a few too many times. Then he’s like o shit you’re too light cause he realized you had lost your appetite and hadn’t eaten anything so he carries you to the kitchen to eat instant tteokbokki or something cause it’s all he knows how to cook properly. And if you say how you can’t eat anything spicy cause your throat hurts, he’d be like “oh yeah” but still get a little upset and you’d assume it’s cause he went out of his way to make it for nothing (and you’d probably feel bad for rejecting the food) when in reality it’s actually cause he feels like he’s not doing enough for you so he’s just disappointed in himself for not realizing it on his own. He just wants to take care of you :(

It sounds super cheesy, (but it’s Juyeon so it’s fine) but he just wants to be your superhero :(

Kevin:

You’re sick and in bed? Movie time!

Kevin would 100% wrap you in a burrito blanket and hug you as you watched old disney movies together in his room. You get hungry? He already meal prepped dinner and dessert’s in the fridge. Like Juyeon. he literally wouldn’t give a flying fuck whether or not you were sick, he’d still stay glued to your side as if he was immune himself. Fast-forward to next week when y’all switch positions and he’s the one you’re taking care of.

I feel like Kevin would make really good soup.

Idk. It’s a strong gut feeling.

When you start dozing off watching HSM, he’d look down at you and smile cutely. You were so adorable in his eyes that it makes him all giddy knowing you were his and he was yours. He’d wonder how he got so lucky with you. When you finally fall asleep with him spooning you like a koala, he’d lower the volume on the TV and rest his head on your chest as his breathing falls in sync with yours. He’d wake up before you, but he wouldn’t want to leave bed so he’d just lay there with you in his arms and close his eyes again to savour the moment.

Chanhee:

Knows you’re sick before you yourself realize that you’re sick.

He’d hear you clear your throat one too many times while you were out on a date one day and would just know. He’d be so much more attentive and doting than usual, if that’s even possible, and his words would become so gentle as he takes care of you.

“It’s really cold outside so I made you some tea.” as he hands you a warm mug of the most relaxing tea you’ve ever had. It was steeped just right and would have the perfect tea-to-honey ratio.

You’d wonder why he was suddenly looking after you like a child until the next morning when you wake up in bed with a sore throat that would’ve been a lot worse had it not been for Chanhee the night before. After seconds of you waking up, he’d open the door and walk in like clockwork with a tray of tea and a mask over his face. You think he’d risk getting sick too? Hell no. He’d keep a slight distance when he puts the tray by your bedside and only then do you notice the plastic gloves on his hands. Gives you vitamin drinks.

Changmin:

You: I’m sick

Changmin: me too

You: really?

Changmin: yeah

Changmin: sick and tired of your bullshit.

Lol jk. Not really. He’d like joke around with you to bring you out of your misery cause laughter do be the best medicine doe. He’d let you sleep in his bed and cuddle his Chucky doll as long as you don’t mess up its hair. He’d be the kind of boyfriend who would be by your side if you asked him to, but would otherwise give you some space to rest. He’d make sure everyone in the dorms was super quiet while you were napping and if anyone made a loud noise, they’d have to deal with angry Changmin and that’s enough to make all of them shit their pants. Including you tbh. He’d try to spoon feed you your medicine and if you turned your head the other way, he’d grab you by the chin and make you look at him. He’d be smiling so innocently, but his eyes would say otherwise. That’d be enough for you to just take the medicine.

He’d also sneak into his room while you were asleep to check the temperature on your forehead. He would never admit doing it, but if you woke up with his hand on your head, he wouldn’t be embarrassed either. In his mind, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. He would just smile down at you and ask if you were feeling any better and if you were hungry. Would stay at your bedside holding your hand. You’re his baby and nothing’s gonna stop him from looking after you

Haknyeon:

Your personal bellboy.

Ask for literally anything and he’ll deliver happily. Heating pad? He’s already on his way. Water? Anything for his sweet cheeks. Food? Is that even a question? Never once would he ever give you the impression that taking care of you is like a chore. In fact, he’d make the most out of it and enter the room with whatever you requested in funny/cute ways just to make you smile. He’d call his mom to ask for any home remedies for your cold and make you some gross lemon ginger concoction that he’d make you drink as he supervised you.

“My mom said if you stand on your head it helps with nasal congestion.”

“Haknyeon, what the fuck”

As he proceeds to flip upside down against the wall to give you a demonstration.

Random thought: Haknyeon would call you his “little piglet” and your couples’ Halloween costume for one year would be Piglet and Pooh bear. Yes, he would carry around a pot of actual honey that he eats by scooping out handfuls. And yes, he’d only share it with you.

Sunwoo:

“You’re sick?”

“Yeah.”

“Damn that sucks lol.”

Would use your weakened state as an advantage to roast the living shit out of you for the next week. He’d announce how great he was if he ever just brought you a glass of water to boost his own ego.

“You look gross.”

“Sunwoo, I have the flu.”

“Okay, and? Tell it to go away and take a shower.”

Even though he teases you a lot, he still does the absolute most for you. Would be so determined to get your favourite snacks that he’d travel all the way across the city, come back hours later with several grocery bags, and would put it next to your bedside while he tells you that you look like a mole rat.

Slides over some red ginseng vitamin juice pouches on the floor with a comically large broomstick and after you give him the stink eye he complains that you should be grateful he walked into the room at all. Proceeds to slam the door shut until he comes back to open it, “I forgot my broom,” and walks back out.

This man is infuriating. You’d have to BEG for cuddles and even though he wants nothing but to lay in bed with you, he makes you work for it. In the end, when y’all are cuddling, he giggles into your hair over something you said and pretends to gag.

“You stink.”

Proceeds to ask if you wanna shower together. He’s only half-joking.

Eric:

Bold of you to assume he’d be anywhere within a 10 ft radius of you. The only way he’d come into your room to deliver food is if he wore full protective gear and left within a minute of entering.

You: eric im hungry

Eric: gotchu babe

Cut to 20 mins later when he storms in wearing a hazmat suit.

“Don’t worry babe, I’m here now,” as he leaves immediately after delivering your cold lunch.

No cause there’s absolutely no way he’d risk getting sick himself, but he’d get very close if he sees the other members taking care of you and keeping you company more than him. Then, he’d get jealous and prideful so he wouldn’t leave your side and you’d have to convince him for way too long to take off the hazmat suit.

He’d lecture and nag at you for things you can’t apply anymore like how you shouldn’t leave the house without a jacket on and how you should always use hand sanitizer or else you’d get sick. And you’re forced to listen as you’re literally dying in bed and if you weren’t immobile, you probably would’ve killed him by now. But it’s okay, he’s too clueless to notice anyway.

Hyunjae, Sangyeon, Chanhee, and Jacob all give him advice on how to look after you and make you feel better, and he eventually follows through and makes you the soup his mom would give him when he gets sick. Spoon feeds you when he realizes you’re like dead. And annoyed. He’d apologize. Eventually. And cry. He’d cry a lot and beg for your forgiveness and would proceed to stay by your side even after you went back to normal.

I have a feeling his immune system is complete shit so have fun taking care of this whiny lil bitch next week!

Cuddles you eventually and tells you all these stories about his childhood as he reminiscences and unintentionally lulls you to sleep as he talks about the baby baseball league he was a part of in pre school. Smiles down at you and stares for a little too long before he dozes off too while he holds you close to him, not caring if he contracts your cold (we love character development).
