something I really love about the childhood friends to lovers trope is how well those people know each other. the familiarity always makes my heart ache, so of course I had to put it here aswell🥺 and you’re right! a big reason for making his POV so important in the beginning was to show you guys that he’s actually really a good person, despite his mistakes. I love him so much too :(((
about the hayun bits: oh yes, I’d do anything to be alone with him. even her character was supposed to be relatable, from how she acted around him to how she accepted his love for our OC :’) but yeah, I wish he’d realized it all without hayun’s help/kiss. it hurt to write it even!! and the scene before she left!! yes, sometimes love isn’t easy, right? sometimes you finally know about each other’s feelings but being together just seems so impossible at that moment. she wanted to stop her overthinking and wanted HIM to be sure about it all, so she truly couldn’t give into their love yet :( you’re right, though, communication definitely helped them out some, and so did the distance!
