Okay So Like I Know I Still Have My

okay so like i know i still have my

eddie x platonic! experiment! reader universe and my summer camp horror story to continue

but !

i’ve been thinking thoughts and now i just have all these ideas and au’s i wanna start writing 😭

i will be listing them because i can’t keep thoughts to myself, but feedback on which ones sound best would be great ! 🫶🏾

- weird science au ; the boys decide to create a girl one day, just for fun after seeing the movie when it came out. chaos ensues and some people like her a little too much 🤭 ( some people is the fruity four 😽 because i don’t know who i want her with yet )

- the lost boys / my babysitter’s a vampire au ; the kids love their babysitter, but she’s been acting a little odd lately, as well as nancy , robin , steve , and eddie 🤨 < don’t know about that part yet

another vampire one! ; eddie starts dating a girl (reader) but the gang just thinks that there’s something weird going on with her, cue, dustin , lucas , will , and mike going, “ she’s obviously a vampire!”

- bewitched au! : reader’s family moves to hawkins, right next door to the sinclair’s, erica tells the group that their neighbor is like eleven, claiming that she’s seen her do weird things. just for them to find out that she’s a witch.

- famous reader!au : everyone knows who the “y/s/n” (your stage name) is, the people of hawkins refer to you as “hawkins’ hope” being that you made it out of your cursed hometown and all. so imagine eddie munson’s surprise when he gets to the wheeler’s basement to hang out, and sees you chatting it up with everyone, like you’ve known them your whole life!

- clue! au ; six people from the same town, are all invited to a mansion one night for a dinner party, thrown by a mutual friend. it’s supposed to be a themed party, but the theme they’re never told. they never get to find out either, being that the host was killed. (i have the idea for this one, i really do. but i have no clue how to execute it. haha get it clue? i’ll stop 🧍🏾‍♀️)

- scooby doo au! ; honestly that one fanart really gave me life, and i would honestly just love to see them as the mystery gang fr 🫣

- kind of like a wandavision!au : reader is an individual with powers she doesn’t quite understand. she’s overcome with anger and grief of her and her friends’ failure and eddie’s “death”. so in a fit of rage, she accidentally turns the town of hawkins into a collection of her favorite sitcoms ! whoops ig

- final destination! au ; the gang decided to take a well-needed vacation , as they board the plane however (i don’t know which character yet, probably reader though) has a too real premonition of the plane crashing moments after take-off, due to her having an outburst, the hawkins crew gets kicked off of the plane, for her delusions. however things quickly escalate further, once the plane does exactly what she said it would. or ( the plot of the second or third final destination movies with the roller coaster or the highway. )

jeepers creepers 2! au ; robin , steve (a senior in this one), nancy , eddie , and reader are going on their senior trip. on the way there however, the bus breaks down, giving the creeper (vecna) a chance to strike !

the society au! ; steve , robin , eddie , nancy , and reader are going on their winter senior trip, however on the way there due to bad weather, the trip gets postponed, making the buses turn back around to hawkins. except when only two buses return and when they do finally get back, the townspeople seemto have vanished.

jennifer’s body au! ; reader and eddie go to a small concert being held at the hideout, the main act is being put on by a gothic girl group, who afterword invite reader to some kind of after party. reader insists that eddie come with her, but the girls refuse. eddie insists she go ahead and to call him so he’ll pick her up after. imagine his surprise when he wakes up to reader laying in his kitchen at 3 am throwing up blood, and babbling nonsense !

mechanic! reader! au ; eddie is infatuated with the girl he keeps frequenting to fix his van.

and i can’t think of any of the other ones rn , but i’m sure this is enough 😭 anyways let me know which one sounds good because writing other things give me inspiration to write my current works for some reason 🙇🏾‍♀️

Stu Macher X Reader:When The Red Dahlias Bloom

Chapter 1:Welcoming Woodsboro

Word Count: 3.2k

Song: You are my Destiny-Paul Anka 1958

For @jokenotfunny

August 1st, 1995

I set a beige box down. It was heavy, full of memories put into it. I thought maybe moving to a new town might be easy—well, easier. The last place my family had lived was a small quiet suburb just outside of Mississippi. I had a hard time standing out but also just as hard as fitting in. I had lived in Mississippi all my life but even now as I'm away from it I had no desire to go back to my old town and old ‘friends’.

My life in Mississippi was awful to say the least. No one liked me there and it was bliss that we had to move for my Mother‘s work. It took a day and a few hours to get to Woodsboro California but it was sure worth it. Every second. The minute I stepped foot out of the car and onto the grass of my new house I knew that this was the best decision ever. Now here I was—unboxing the last few boxes of furniture for my new room.

The house was spacious and very welcoming. A two story house excluding the attic outside of the main town. The exterior was a light off-white with a mid grey roof. Dark grey shutters had framed the windows and the door was a dark wooded auburn with a dark handle to the door. The last home owners had said the house was built in the seventies, yet it still had a modern look. Pillars lined outside of the house onto the porch where there was a wooden porch swing. a garden grew on the outside of the house creating a beautiful natural remedy to the house. Instead of fences outlining the backyard it was trees and forest, the place was… magical.

The interior was magical as well but nothing could compare to the outside. Stairs were what you saw as you went in but if you turned your head to either side there was a dining room to the left and living room to the right. Connecting both of the two was the kitchen and the door to the backyard. Paintings littered the wall of the first floor. Under the stair however was an empty bookcase connected to the stairs and a door to a tiny bathroom was placed conveniently in the middle of it all. The bathroom was small, and the tiles of the floor were cool, but the white paint of the room made it seem bigger than what it really was.

The second floor contained the bedrooms and two more bathrooms. As you went up the stairs you were met with a closet which hung coats and held old paintings and the such. A little table which held a vase of Red Dahlias and pictures of our family was right next to them. Right of the closet and table however was my parents room. My parents room was connected to their own bathroom. A queen sized bed was on the side of the room next to the window. The carpet upstairs was a soft dark grey and the bed matched the carpet perfectly. Drawers and a closet were near each other. Outside of their room and near the closet was a bathroom which I would now use most of the time. The bathroom had dark paint on the walls and a painting hung behind the toilet as a shower right next to it as well.

At the end of the hallway to the left was my own room. It had plenty of space. The walls were a light grey and a fan was on the ceiling which also held light. Turning the switch on the room was light and yellow. My desk which I had sat in a corner near my drawer. My window had white curtains. My bed is on the opposite side of my drawer and desk. Right next to my door however is my closet which had stairs to the attic inside of it.

Boxes had still riddled throughout the house however as we were not super human and could get unpacking done after a day of driving. I was let outside of the house however when I got most of my unpacking done. The remaining of my items were in a few boxes inside of my room waiting to be placed somewhere. Riding my bike into town as I didn’t have enough money to buy my own car and my parents didn’t trust me enough with their car all by myself I was stuck riding a bike to town from the middle of nowhere. It had also turned out that the neighbours were miles away from the house, the Becker family. I greeted them and told them I was their new neighbour. They seemed delighted to see a new face so I left the couple alone after saying goodbye.

As soon as I got into town I had listed every store I saw. K-mart, an ice cream parlour, a few shopping stores around the places… I’d say the town was pretty nice and had a lot of options. I had slid off my bike and saw a place I could chain my bike up. I ran up, chained it, and made note of where I had put it so I didn’t lose it. I had noticed a lot of people outside of their houses, mostly teenagers, but still, it was a friendly surprise.

I had been walking for a couple minutes before I had seen something that had caught my eye. At first I thought it was a few noisy teenagers but then I saw that it was a news crew. Cameras were set everywhere and the person who was the main focus was a woman in a green and spiky outfit. I quickly walked towards the crew and overheard them talking about a death which happened earlier in the year somewhere around this spot of town. I heard the reporter's name. Her name was Gale Weathers and she had commented on how the person who was accounted as guilty was framed, and she had a book on him and such.

Then suddenly she turned to people in the crowd and asked them how they felt about living in a town with a murderer on the loose and such. Multiple types of responses had surfaced and suddenly I was pulled into the camera's view and asked a series of questions.

“What do you feel about Cotton Weary being falsely accused of murder?”Gale Weathers said in a monotone reporter-like voice.

“Uhhh—I don’t—I’m not—I’m new into town, I just moved here, I really don’t know who Cotton Weary is, Ma’am..,”I had stumbled out.

“Hmm, are you aware of the murder of Mrs.Prescott?”She had Questioned

“No I’m not, sorry, I don’t think I’m exactly the type of person you’re looking for,” I chuckled out.

She puzzled to herself and pushed me away looking for once again, another person to interview on the accusations. I was alright with that happening however as I could hear about what had happened and other things. After getting bored shortly after I walked around a fountain nearby I strolled along to a diner feeling quite famished after my adventures around town. Songs were being played in the 50-60s based diner. It smelt of savoury foods and meat. Food to make your mouth salivate. I went up to a stool near a cash register and turned to my wallet seeing how much money I had. I only had enough for a milkshake and maybe fries.

“Hey sweetheart, ready to order?” A soothing voice had rolled out in front of me, catching me off guard.

My mouth was a bit agape looking up to see a handsome man with mid-length dark brown hair and even darker brown eyes,”uh—uhm, I am actually. Can I get a vanilla milkshake?”Snapping out of my gaze.

“You’ve got it sweetie, but are you sure you don’t want the chocolate?”he grinned looking towards me

“Now looking at you more clearly, are you from around here? I haven’t seen you around school. Maybe it’s because it's summer, huh?” He snickered.

“You’ve got me,” you say, putting your hands up defenseless, “I just moved here from a town right outside of Mississippi. I’m Y/N,” you go out to shake his hand, his rough hand grips yours tightly.

“Also, vanilla is the cheapest option so no, I don’t think I’ll get the chocolate,” you grinned with a cheeky smile.

“Alright Y/N, coming right up. Names Billy,” he said as he let go of your hand.

You kicked your feet as you pulled a magazine out of your bag to read it as you waited for your milkshake. Skimming through the thin pages you read a mini comic put on the side of the magazine. I was far too invested in the comic. I hadn't even noticed my milkshake had arrived and the waiter, Billy, had been scrolling the page from upside down.

“You seriously like that thing? It’s so stupid,”he smirked out.

You jumped not expecting someone’s voice.

“..yeah, it’s a good comic. I love Garfield. I read it in almost every newspaper ever! It is so not stupid!”you spat out but as soon as you said it you realized how childish you had sounded and immediately looked back down to read more of the adventures the orange cat has yet to go on. You felt your cheeks burn up.

Grabbing your vanilla milkshake you drank it hurriedly. Famin immediately leaves your body as it fills your empty insides. The flavour of icecream and vanilla flooded your mouth. Although your body still has yet to get solid foods the milkshake you had gotten would’ve subsided the hunger pains you would’ve definitely gotten if you hadn’t gotten the milkshake.

“No need to be in a hurry,” Billy had said, making you look up towards his eyes.

“Oh you have no idea, I’ve been needing some nutrition in my body all day,” flailing your body dramatically.

You both laughed and chatted for up to an hour. Just as it hit 5:00pm you got your wallet out and had paid for your milkshake as well as tipped Bill Loomis Humorously. He had also gotten your new house number in return.

Strutting out of the small diner it had hit golden hour. The trees outside Gad golden flakes scattered around the leaves. The hot sun heated your face and you felt as like everything that has ever happened in your life lifted. You never sinned, you’ve never done any bad thing in your life. You strolled down the now quieter town and the fresh air filled your lungs. Life was peaceful. You went to get your keys from your bag for your bike but once you got to where you had chained your bike it was nowhere to be seen. Your heart started to race from its once calm and collected nature. You immediately went into the place near where you had chained your bike up.

Going up to the counter of the store you rang the bell numerous times.

“Hello-o-o?”you questioned loudly and frantically.

A boy with spiky dirty blonde hair and brilliant blue eyes hurriedly opened the door, almost falling in the process. I was almost too mesmerized by his dashing looks. I forgot about my missing bike. He was better looking than Bill, and his worried look made it even better.

“Yes? Yes? I was on break but I guess not anymore, what do you need?”he asked in a bit of a serious tone although it seemed like he could be more of a goofy laid back kind of guy.

Remembering how my bike got stolen or was mistaken or just missing I stammered the words out to the god like being in front of me,”I think my bike got stolen from outside this store, did you see who took it? Please say you have! Please!”I begged. I could almost see something in him turn but it was unreadable. He looked at me pitifully.

“No, sorry, I haven’t. I'm sure if you need a ride I could get you one depending on how close we are. What’s your address?”

“Oh thank you so much, I have no way of going home except from my bike. I’m so grateful for you, you have no idea. My address is 1810 Calistoga Road,” I say, almost rambling from the sheer amount of adrenaline still filled in my body. He put his hands on my shoulders and made me realize I was practically vibrating.

“Calm down now, huh? Don’t need you to go exploding in my car. My shift ends in a few hours. Hopefully you can withstand that,” he chuckled to himself, seemingly getting relaxed,”That house, doesn’t it belong to the Georges’? Are you their granddaughter or something?” He expressed also through his hands in a gleeful tone.

“Oh, no, my parents and I just moved in from Mississippi. The Georges’ moved out of town. I’m not sure where to but hopefully somewhere sunny like Cali,” you started to smile again. Going around the counter to sit in the back with him,”My names Y/N by the way, you saved my ass,”

“Well Y/N, my name is Stuart Macher, but you can call me Stu little lady. You really scared the hell out of me back there when you started screaming,”he laughed lowly as he leaned against the counter and rubbed the back of his neck.

“Yeah, sorry about that, I just got really freaked out by the whole ordeal. Hopefully you can forgive me for that—please don’t hold a grudge against me until I die a painful and sufferable death, please-e-e,” you prolonged with a goofiness in your voice, as well as putting your hands together in a pleading way.

“Don’t worry about it, I can live without a grudge knowing you die a painfully slow suffering death now that you’ve said it!” You both laugh, tears welled up in your eyes as he made a few more comments about the situation at hand.

At around 7:00pm he walked towards the door, turning the once opened sign to a closed sign and locking the door.

“So this whole job is just a summer job?”you ask.

“Yeah-h-h, my folks wanted me to be more responsible and turns out I’m not the only one with a summer job! My friend Billy got a job across town at a diner. So I’m not the only one who has to suffer this painful ass job thing,”he complains, making a few jokes here and there.

After locking up the back door he—we headed for the car. I had no idea which one was his so I just beelined straight behind him.

“Are you going to sit on my lap or something? Go on the other side!” He howled laughing at my antics. Heat rose to my face as I laughed alongside him at myself.

Going to the other side of the car I heard the click of the lock and opened up the door and plopped myself into the small vehicle. I bounced up and down on the couchy seat and grabbed the seat belt and buckled myself in.

“Let’s go, my trusty steed!”I yelled victoriously. The car roared in response and then we were off. The car zipped through town but instead of the route to my house we went to the diner.

“I forgot to mention but my friend Billy also gets a ride from me—so! He’ll just have to sit in the back,” He winked at me. He raised his hand up and ferociously slammed it onto the horn. A loud ‘BEEEEP’ could be heard all throughout town. The back door of the diner was immediately opened and banged against the wall of the diner. Stuart rolled down the window.

“Sorry baby, you have to sit in the back this time, we have company,” Stuart said before doing an erratic shaking of his hands.

“God damnit Stu,”Bill had said, annoyed but as he looked through the window and saw me I waved my hand at him.

“Oh, it’s just Y/N, never mind,”Bill said and rested his face and opened the car door.

“You know Billy?”

“Course I know him! I went to the diner earlier today to get a milkshake,”

“Oh-h-h, alright,” he said with a goofy grin.

The ride back home was loud and the boy bickered as if I wasn’t in the car. Although I joined in the arguments at times I could help but laugh at them. Bil was dropped off first. The car was comfortably silent until I said something which seemed to stiffen Stuart up.

“Thanks a lot Stuart, you doing this means a lot. Maybe we can hang out some time? I’ll leave my number with you if you want,”

“Really it’s no problem Y/N, you and your pretty face can ask for a car ride anytime, though I would take that ‘hang out’ thing anytime darlin’,” he snickered

I smiled at him and leaned back looking out the window and listening to the music currently playing on the radio. I hummed along with the song as trees passed and animals ran across the sides. This town was peaceful.. maybe I can actually have a good life here..?

As the car pulled up at the driveway I said thank you once again as I left, leaving my number with him. Running up to the auburn door I knocked three times very firmly. I looked down towards my watch and noticed that the time was already 9:17pm! I had missed dinner and practically every important meal today but I was too tired to care, hopefully my parents would feel the same. If they didn’t… I would just say I got a meal out in the town at the diner. No need to stress out about food. My parents took too long to open the door so I summed it up to them already being asleep and grabbed the spare key under the mat and unlocked the door. I didn’t realize Stuart was still here so I waved him off and said goodbye and goodnight once again this night.

Going in I took off my shoes near the door and placed them out of the way. Going to the kitchen I got some water, drinking cup after cup. I didn’t realize how thirsty I was until this moment but I just kept on drinking and refilling my cup. Finally once I was full and hydrated I hurriedly went up the stairs, did my nightly routine in the bathroom and smashed myself into my bed. I immediately passed out. I felt so.. happy. Today was a great beginning. I wouldn’t think that for much longer though. I could feel something or someone staring at me through the window as I fell asleep but I paid no mind as it could’ve easily just been a stray dog or raccoon.

Still, you couldn’t help but wonder… what if?

Cloudbusting {Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader} {Pt 1/3}

A/N: Welcome back, dearest reader! I’m so excited to be writing for Stranger Things. I had this idea for quite some time, and after many sleepless nights, rewrites and frustrated conversations with myself, it’s finally seeing the light of day. This is inspired by the music of the lovely Kate Bush!

Warnings: mentions of blood and death, language, no beta/not proofread

Summary: When Reader, a newcomer to Hawkins High, realizes just what dangers lie beneath this once quiet town, will she face her past to take down this evil once and for all?

**GIF NOT MINE, credit goes to suledins

Cloudbusting {Eddie Munson X Fem!Reader} {Pt 1/3}

Bodies of guards and orderlies lay scattered on the floors, blood painting the walls. Ahead, in the rainbow room, you see 011 talking to Peter, but something is wrong. He looked… possessed by something evil.

Carefully, you approach the doors to the rainbow room. Your ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters’ lie on the ground of the Rainbow Room, blood smeared on their bodies. All of the sudden, 011 screams, flinging Peter to the back wall. His body begins to disintegrate as he screams. With the sound of footsteps swiftly approaching, you ran from the Rainbow Room, and far from the lab.

“Welcome to Hawkins High, dear. If you could take a seat while I file this, I’ll be with you shortly.” The secretary smiles at you, taking the paperwork from your hand gently and turning on her heel.

You let out a sigh and turn to the chairs, taking the corner seat against the wall. Two seats over, a young man sits alone.

“Hey.” You begin, glancing over to him. He looks over, his eyes meeting yours.

“You talking to me?“ He asks, pointing to his chest and looking around.

“Well, I was talking to the wall until I figured out it wasn’t a great conversationalist,” You joke, flashing a small smile before extending your hand, “I’m {Y/N}.”

“I-oh, yeah,” He chuckles and takes your hand with a smile, “Eddie Munson.” The cold metal of his rings press into your hands and you gasp softly as a vision comes to you.

A white van speeding off in the night. A lake. An old abandoned house. A storm.

“H-hey, you okay?” Eddie asks as the secretary approaches with a warm smile. You quickly stand, withdrawing your hand and forcing a smile.

“Y-yeah, I don’t know what came over me. I’m sorry about that. I’ll see you around.” You say quickly before following the secretary out of the office, leaving Eddie behind in his confusion.

Luckily, Hawkins High wasn’t much of a maze as you thought it would be. The bell had just rung for lunch. You packed up your things and headed to the cafeteria after dropping off a few things in your locker.

The cafeteria was buzzing with chatter and laughter. Your eyes scanned the room before landing on a familiar person.

“And I’m gonna run like hell outta here!” Eddie exclaimed to the group, turning to face them. Without much of a second thought, you walked over with your tray of food and nonchalantly sat down. The group fell silent, all looking at you as you began eating.

“U-uhm… I think you’re at the wrong-“ A young man, possibly a freshman, began to speak before Eddie quickly stepped in.

“Shush! She’s allowed here. Hellfire, meet {Y/N}. {Y/N}, welcome to Hellfire.”

“Woah, woah, woah, we didn’t agree-“

“We don’t agree on a lot of things, Gareth.” Eddie remarked, flashing a small smile your way. You saw the curly headed kid lean into the one from earlier and whisper something into his ear. You shrug it off and continue eating. Once lunch was over, you threw your trash away and turned in your tray.

“Hey, {Y/N}, wait up!” Eddie calls for you as you hold onto the straps of your backpack.

“Yeah, what’s up?”

“I just wanted to see if you were, y’know, feeling better?”

“Oh, yeah, I am. Just, I dunno. Maybe it was a sensory thing? Who knows?” You laugh it off and look down at your feet.

“Come to Hellfire tonight.” Eddie suggests, placing a hand on your shoulder. You glance up at him, biting the inside of your cheek.

“I guess I could. I’ve got nothing better going on.” You give in to his request.

“Come on, get to class!” A teacher scolds you both, and you flash an apologetic smile before leaving.

“See you tonight.” You wave bye to him before leaving for your next class. Unbeknownst to you, Dustin and Mike were watching you from afar.

You arrived at the theatre room a little early, having stayed after school to catch up on homework and assignments. You set your bag down and walk over to the table in the center of the room. A stack of various books involving this fantasy game of dungeons and dragons were propped open.

“Hey, there you are.” Eddie comes from the shadows holding a game mat board, dice and small figures. You smile and place your hands in your back pockets.

“Yeah, I thought I’d see what all the fuss is about.” You mention as he sets his things down.

“I didn’t think you’d come. Keep up that mysterious persona.” Eddie winks, setting up the game board and figures. “What’s your story anyways?”

“I don’t really have one.” You admit, shrugging your shoulders as you lean back against the wall, crossing your arms over your chest.

“Okay, I won’t push ya. Although that is a very cheap excuse and I do expect a story later. Say… tomorrow morning, Rosie’s diner, 11am?” He asks, flashing a little halfway smile.

“Smooth, Munson. Real smooth. I’ll be there.” You smile as the members of Hellfire slowly filter into the theatre room. You sit off to the side, watching Eddie and the others play out the finale of the campaign. At times, it would get heated and there’d be lots of shouting which amused you, seeing the group getting so worked up over a certain enemy or fight.

The campaign had eventually ended with a victory, and everyone packed up to go home just as the championship basketball game had finished.

“Don’t forget about our little date tomorrow morning.” Eddie walks by you to his fan and you smile to yourself.

“Y-yeah. I’ll be there.” You nod, undoing the lock to your bike and hopping on. You begin the short ride to your house, just down the road from Hawkins High.

Upon arriving, you slowed your bike to a stop outside the home. It was quaint and simple, it served its purpose to keep a roof over your head. You didn’t have parents so luckily you had the house all to yourself. Swinging off your bike, you grab your bag and trudge along to the door. Once inside, you set your bag down and shuffle to the bedroom. As you’re undressing, the lights begin to flicker. It continues for a moment or so before suddenly stopping.

“It’s nothing to worry about.” You tell yourself and get changed into pajamas. Climbing into bed, you stare at the ceiling until sleep takes you far from this place.

“Look who finally decided to join us. Someone’s a sleepyhead this morning.”

You sat in the booth of Rosie’s diner, granted a little early. You were anxious so naturally you arrived 15 minutes before the agreed time.

‘What do I have to be anxious about? He’s just a boy and this is just breakfast.’ You tell yourself, taking a deep breath as you twiddle your thumbs atop the table, looking around. ‘If it is just breakfast, why are you wearing a Motley Crue shirt and your favorite pair of tight jeans that framed you perfectly?’ You scoff at yourself, shaking the thoughts away. The waitress had already been by once, giving you water while you wait.

11:03am.

The clock incessantly ticked. You pressed your lips together, trying to avoid looking around and give the idea you had been set up.

‘Maybe he’s just late?’ You hope, distracting yourself by looking into your clutch for whatever to keep your mind off the fact Eddie was a no show. You hear the bell ding and look up to see the curly haired freshman from Hellfire with a red headed girl in tow.

“Y/N!”

“Dustin, wait up-“ The red headed girl insists, following him into the diner. Dustin rushes up to your booth, seemingly out of breath, but looking rather confused.

“Where’s Eddie?” He whispered, looking around. You sigh.

“Why are we whispering? And I could ask you the same thing.” You tell him, glancing behind him to the red headed girl, “And you are?”

“Max, but that’s beside the point. We have to go. We think Eddie is in trouble.” She begins tugging you out of the booth, not a care in the world that you two had only just met. You smirk, digging into your purse and slapping a $5 bill on the table for the waitress. You quickly follow the kids out of the diner.

“Hold up. How did you two get here? And where the hell are we going?”

“Uh, by bike. Do I look old enough to drive? And Family Video.” Dustin explained, lifting his bike off the ground.

“Hold up a minute. Eddie is in trouble, and we’re going to go to Family Video.” You scoff and shake your head, “I don’t have time for this.” You unlock your bike and begin to walk away. Max grabs you by the wrist and you gasp.

A graveyard. Letters. Max levitating. A broken home.

“Listen. Please. We need your help. Eddie trusts you for whatever reason Dustin won’t explain. Please, just help us find Eddie and you can go on your way.” She demands and you look at her in horror at your vision. You quickly clear your throat and nod.

“Okay, let’s go.”

“Hey, Steve.” Dustin bursts through the doors of Family Video. You and Max follow closely behind l. Behind the counters, Steve and Robin lean back against the counters, chatting.

“You see this?” Steve scoffs, pointing at the TV.

“How many phones do you have?”

“Someone was murdered.” Steve points out, looking to Dustin in disbelief.

“How many phones do you have?” Dustin repeats. You stand in the background, looking at the movie section, unsure what any of this had to do with Eddie.

“Two. Why?”

“Technically three if you count Keith’s.” Robin chimes in, just as confused as Steve.

“Y-yeah, three works.” Max assures Dustin as he tears off his backpack. Steve sighs, watching his young friend.

“What are you doing?” He asks just before Dustin slides his pack over the counter. You glance up to watch.

“Woah, what are you-?!”

“My pile!”

Before either of the workers could process, Dustin hopped over the counter and took a seat at the computer.

“N-no, no, no, my tapes! Dude.” Steve exclaims out of frustration. “What are you doing, man?!” You giggle and set down a movie you had been eyeing for some time. You walk over to the counter, leaning over it besides the computer.

“Setting up a base of operations.” Dustin explains quickly as his fingers tap away at the keyboard.

“Base of operations?” Robin asks as she cleans up the mess Dustin had made.

“C’mon, get off it.” Steve insists.

“No, I need it.”

“For what?”

“Eddie’s friends' phone numbers.” Dustin explains, pulling up the customer database on the computer. Dustin and Max look to you momentarily.

“Jesus, that’s why we’re here?!” You ask, smacking your hands on the counter. Steve groans.

“Your new best friend you think is cooler because he plays your nerdy game?”

“Yes. I never said that.”

“Seriously, you guys, maybe on a Monday you can play around, but it’s a Saturday. It’s our BUSIEST day.” Robin chastises the children.

“Alright look Robin I empathize, but this cannot wait.”

“Oh my god.” Steve groans, putting his face in his hands.

“Why? Because calling Eddie’s friends is an emergency?” She snapped back, picking up a stack of papers from the floor.

“Correct!”

You manage to push yourself up on the counter, taking a spot on an empty part free of papers and piles of movies.

“Can you just fill them in while I do this?” Dustin demands Max, who looks to Steve and Robin.

“Fill us in on what?” Robin inquires, turning around to face us.

And that is when Max had explained everything, from start to finish, that she believed it wasn’t Eddie who killed Chrissy after all, that it was in fact related to the “upside down” and the “demogorgon” from the lab.

You felt a chill go up your spine as you let out a shaky breath. The flashbacks of that day haunted you, his voice haunted you.

“We have to find Eddie. Now!”
