Currently thinking about Felix Catton working a regular job just because.
Him working at Build-A-Bear 🧸🧸🧸
Felix in his gap year (shhh I know he doesn't really take one just pretend) asking his parents if he can get a casual job because he saw it on TV.
Felix who is so removed from middle-to-lower-class reality that he can romanticise the idea of a fresh-out-of-high-school teen having a job.
Felix whose parents reluctantly let him get a job at Build-A-Bear because his first choice was being a life guard, and they love him very much but don't want him liable for people's lives.
Felix who absolutely adores working at Build-A-Bear and is actually very good at it.
Felix who gets along with all of the kids who come in, and he makes all of the Building/Stuffing/Naming ceremonies for each of the kids, and can seem to tell if the kids would respond best to it being goofy, heartfelt, or if the kid might be trying to act a little bit too cool for it. Felix is naturally very good with kids I will die on this hill.
Felix who is completely oblivious to the sudden spike of teenage sisters bringing their younger siblings in.
Felix being completely oblivious to the little fanclub that he has, mostly of girls in their early teens who spend their weekends at the mall and will walk past the shop several times a day if he's in.
Felix radiating the absolute sweetest, goofiest big brother energy literally not even realising that half the girls who come into the store have a crush on him.
But also Felix who quietly gets very excited to dress the bears up to put them on display in the window.
Felix who made Venetia a bear and not only dressed it up, but gave her a few different little bear outfits. She rolled her eyes and reminded him she's twenty, but she still keeps the bear sitting on her bed every day, and sometimes he'll look in and she's changed it's little outfit.
Felix whose energy and love and joy is felt by everyone who comes into the shop because he lives to see the way each kid's faces light up when they finally get to hug their teddy at the end.
Felix working to bring kids joy and/or help them in some way is something I hold very close to my heart. I love this concept. I kind of want to draw it.

Because my last post about this didn't get much traction, I'll say it in a text post.
There is an upcoming global strike for Palestine. February 18th to the 25th. Talk about Palestine and other injustices, call your representatives and email them, boycott companies and limit spending during the week. Get your grocery shopping in now and only buy essentials during the week, please. Limit interaction on posts other than injustices around the world. If you can, skip work or school, though this is a privilege not everyone has.
Edit: It is 18th-25th not 18th-24th!! If you've already reblogged this, please reblog this version instead, edits don't show on past reblogs

PART ONE.
You had not known the pleasure of heaven but a kitchen table filled with different colored dishware and food piled high with four people you’d never think would be your whole world came pretty close.
A sloppy kiss on each of your cheeks made you laugh, taking in the grinning faces of Steve and Robin on each side of you.
“Not fair dingus! I was going to kiss her first!” Robin said, smacking Steve upside his head.
“You snooze, you lose.” Steve said, leaning over to kiss you only to kiss Eddie’s dirty napkin instead, Eddie crawling over Steve to get to you.
“I couldn’t agree more.” Nancy reached around your chair, planting a biting kiss on your lips, intercepting the four of them. Somehow, Nancy ended up being knocked to the floor and it was only a matter of time before they tackled you to the ground to join them, hands slipping into your own, your head on someone’s lap, breathing and laughing.
No, this was heaven, time stopped here, a peaceful place to dwell and you shut your eyes tightly to lock this heaven forever.
“Open your eyes, pretty girl.” Robin whispers, her tone almost menacing, causing you to open your eyes in confusion.
“Robin?”
Her lovely eyes are milky white, mouth contorted into a smile.
“I said open your eyes, now.”
Somewhere, a clock chimes.
The sound of Professor Henry Creel’s grandfather clock chiming startled you into opening your eyes in the freezing cramped office of your psych professor, his head cocked to the side, blue eyes studying you as he leaned against the door.
“I’m sorry Professor, I'm a little out of it today, what did you say?” You asked with a smile.
He closed the gap between you, scraping the metal chair against the floor before sitting down, his face inches from yours.
“I’m taking time out of my day to aid you in passing my class and you were not paying attention. I'm sorry Professor Creel, I wasn’t paying attention, I don’t care about my education’, is what you meant to say, correct?” He asked, calmly.
“I-
“So say it. Say, ’I’m sorry Professor Creel, I wasn’t paying attention, I don’t care about my education.’’ Professor Creel said, a whispered command in your ear.
The clock chimes again and it’s like your entire body locks up, words falling from your lips without any forethought.
“I’m sorry Professor Creel, I wasn’t paying attention. I don’t care about my education.” You repeated over and over again, eyes burning. He catches the single tear that manages to escape, sucking on his fingertip.
“Don’t be sorry, that’s what I’m here for, to educate you. It’ll be over soon.”
You look behind him at the grandfather clock, eyes glazing over as the clock chimes one final time.
“You’re home!”
You’re not exactly sure of how you got home, but you happily walk straight into Robin’s arms, letting her lead you to the couch.
“Steve taped Living Single for you before he went to work and there’s pizza in the fridge. How was tutoring?” Robin asked, pulling you on her lap.
“It was great, he’s such a great professor! Next time you should come with me, he’s so kind, I bet he’d tutor you too if you want.” You said brightly, kissing Robin on the cheek. A cloud passes over her face and her arms tighten around you.
“Something wrong?” You asked, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
“No, nothing, it’s just kind isn’t the word I would use to describe him, that’s all. He’s got that creepy stare and he’s always doing that not calm but not calm voice, he freaks me out. ” Robin said, words tumbling out of her but seeing your frown, she went quiet.
“That’s because you haven’t gotten to know him, that’s all. He’s wonderful, you'll see.” You said, snuggling deep into Robin’s shoulder.
“Do you think I can borrow your tutoring notes? I can barely read my own chicken scratch from class today.” She asked suddenly and you jumped out of your seat, handing her your notebook before settling back with your head on her lap.
You fell asleep before the opening credits finished and Robin was content to have you stay for eternity but due to the fact that she had to pee, she gently placed your head on a pillow and stood up, knocking your notebook to the ground.
She quickly and quietly picked the notebook as it fell open, and as the light of the tv fell on the lined paper, what Robin saw confused her and filled with an overwhelming feeling of dread.
The pages were completely blank.
“You’re the sexiest tiebreaker I have ever seen. What’s it gonna be, gorgeous?” Steve asked, wrapping his arms around you as you looked at both brochures for the weekend trip you all had been planning.
“As much fun and slightly horrific as a secluded cabin in the woods sounds, room service sounds so much better.” You said with a smile, pecking him on the cheek. Eddie and Robin pouted but a kiss from you lifted their spirits.
“Next weekend is gonna be the best weekend ever.” You said, throwing your arms around the pair of them before grabbing your books.
“You’re studying now? A Different World’s coming on soon, you never miss A Different World.” Steve asked.
“I’ve got psych tutoring tomorrow, can’t get behind.” You said with a smile, and out of the corner of your eye you spotted Robin with a strange look on her face.
You have to study, you have to get better, you can’t fail now.
“Sweetheart, why don’t you stop now? It’s five in the morning.” Nancy’s voice startles you in the quiet of the dark kitchen. You don’t remember saying good night to everyone or sitting down at the table for that long either.
“I’ll be up in an hour or so, I’m almost done.” You said with a tired smile but Nancy didn’t budge.
“You didn’t eat anything at dinner, you’ve been down here every night, you’re not gonna get behind if you sleep. You can sleep with me, Robin’s already up there.” Nancy said sweetly, holding her hand out to you.
“Nancy, I said-” Blinding pain explodes from behind your eyes, causing you to cry out, clutching your head in your hands.
Blood drips from your nose onto your psych book as Nancy rushes forward .
Somewhere a clock chimes.
“I have to reschedule Next Friday's session Professor Creel, I’m going away from the weekend.” You said, sitting down and taking out your notebook.
Funny, you couldn’t remember where you’d left off the last session, or the one before that.
“No, I don’t think you will.” Professor Creel said simply, sitting down in front of you.
“I’m sorry?”
The clock chimes and you sit straight up, unable to move.
Something’s wrong, this is wrong, you need this to stop.
“You will not miss a session, you will do as I instruct when I instruct. To be a truly great scholar you need to give up everything and everyone or you will continue to be the failure you are now. Say it, say that you are a failure.” Creel whispered and you opened your mouth wide.
“I am a failure.”
“Again.”
“ I am-”
The sound of a car pulling up playing metal music breaks you of a fog and you blink rapidly at your professor.
“I’m sorry Professor, did you say something?” You asked innocently, confused as to why the man was glaring at you but his office door swung open and you both snapped your heads to look at Steve.
“Shit, I’m sorry! All done, babe?” Steve asked, sounding quite the opposite of sorry and instead of waiting for an answer all but pulled you out of your chair, slipping your bag on his shoulder. You smiled apologetically at your seething yet silent professor, following Steve out to Eddie’s waiting car.
“ There’s my girl, you good angel?” Eddie stuck his head out the window for you to kiss.
“Just a little tired but I’m good, I promise.” You said with a yawn.
“Does he always do that?” Steve said, jerking his head up at the window where Professor Creel stood, looking down at you all.
“He’s really protective of his students, it’s really sweet.” You said automatically and slipped into the backseat.
You fell asleep on the short car ride home, Steve carrying you up the stairs into the house before Eddie took you the rest of the way to your room.
“Is she okay?” Nancy asked from her place on the couch, arm around Robin who’s eyes followed your sleeping form as Eddie carried you up the stairs.
“Yeah, just tired, all that tutoring shit, you know? I don’t think I’ve seen anyone study that much before, not even you Nance.” Steve said, sinking down on the opposite couch. Robin looked back at the stairs, worry passing over her features long enough for Steve to notice.
“Robin, you okay?” Steve asked.
“Could you hand me her bag? She said I could borrow her tutoring notes any time I needed them.” Robin said and with a shrug Steve handed Robin the bag and Robin dug through it.
“No snooping, Robin.” Steve said, half serious, half concerned as she rummaged through your bag, pulling out your notebook.
“She gave me this notebook the last time I asked and it was empty. I thought maybe she had just given me the wrong notebook but it’s the same one, she labeled it, sometimes I think she loves that label-maker more than us.” Robin said, opening the notebook to show Steve and Nancy.
“He’s been tutoring her for a month now, how can there be no notes? That doesn’t make any sense.” Nancy said, looking over Robin’s shoulder as she flipped through the pages, running her fingers over what looked like the remnants of ripped out pages.
“What doesn’t make sense?” Eddie asked, flopping down on the couch besides Steve.
“Her notebook’s empty. She’s been meeting with Creel four times a week every week, studying for his class when she’s not with him and he did not seem fucking happy when I interrupted them earlier.” Steve said.
“ How’s there nothing written down? If he’s not tutoring her than what the fuck is he doing with her?” Eddie asked, mind already going to places that made him feel sick.
“Unless there is something written down and we just can’t see it.” Robin said quietly, picking up the notebook and getting up off the couch and running into the kitchen.
“Robin?” Nancy called out, getting off the couch to follow her with Eddie and Steve on her heels.
“You wanna fill us in, Buckley?” Steve asked, watching Robin rummage through the kitchen until she found a pencil.
“I needed more light, there are words here, she’s been writing something but the pages have been ripped out, maybe by her, maybe by Creel, but if my theory is correct then this should tell us what we need to know.” Robin said, rubbing the pencil over the seemingly blank paper, and words lifted up.
“Robin, you are a goddamn genius.” Nancy kissed Robin on the top of her head before they all leaned over the notebook to see what had been written there.
It was one sentence, over and over again.
It will all be over soon.
“What does that mean? What does that fucking mean?” Steve asked, voice rising in volume as Robin rubbed the pencil over the next page and still the same sentence imprinted in the paper came up.
Eddie backed away from the table slowly, his face a mixture of fear and rage.
“Where are you going?” Nancy asked.
“To wake her up and ask.” Eddie said, voice low and stomped towards the stairs.
“Wait, we can ask her when she wakes up, she hasn’t slept in days.” Nancy said, quickly following after Eddie only to bump into his back as he stood at the bottom of the stairs, his hand shaking on the railing, face tilted upwards.
“Eddie, what are you looking at-
Nancy’s unfinished question made Robin and Steve race out of the kitchen and to the stairs, a small scream escaped from Robin’s mouth as she looked up to see what Eddie and Nancy’s eyes were fixed on.
Eyes open and staring into nothing, you were standing completely still on top of the third floor railing.
I feel like this isn't that good but I'm sharing it anyway! Enjoy!
