🎃👻🍬🦇🎃👻🍬🦇💀🧡 Wayfarer Halloween!

Last night I hosted a mini-fic and art giveaway on the Wayfarer Discord! It was a blast. Thank you to everyone who participated!

The project was a ‘mad libs’ type of prompt game where people could submit their character’s name to one of 30 random spooky encounters. There were also a few free art slots given out. Per a few people’s request, here are all the mini-fics compiled, along with the ones that weren’t claimed.

1. Rona is not without its myths and legends: arms that pull unwary souls under the water, vines that come to life and entangle their prey. Cassander never gave these much thought. Perhaps he should start. The boardwalk is eerily quiet tonight, and the moon is blotted out by thick clouds.

He swallows hard and picks up the pace. Mulch Road never seemed so far away.

2. “A cursed amulet?”

“Allegedly cursed,” Aeran clarifies. “Curses aren’t real. All this ‘bury it in salt under running water’ stuff is nonsense. But the client wants it disposed of 'safely’ and the pay is good, so…”

“So you’re going along with it?” Sienna smiles, amused. “Even though you don’t believe? Heh. Are you sure you should be wearing it like that?”

“Please, Sen,” Aeran says with a roll of his eyes. “What’s the worst that could happen? Even if it was cursed, the magic wouldn’t affect us.”

“Careful!” they laugh and shake their head. “Don’t jinx it.”

Fortunately they dispose of the amulet without incident… though Aeran does slip in the process, falling into the river, and then stubbing his toe while clambering out.
