The Uber app says your driver has arrived, but upon your second look, there is no Hyundai Santa Fe in your close vicinity. You wonder if there is something wrong with the app or if your Uber driver has fallen off the face of the Earth all of a sudden. The app says he was on route two minutes ago and should have arrived by now.

“What do you mean who?” You say as you glide past Jungkook, flop onto the empty sofa taking up all the space leaving Jungkook with the beanie bag. “I’ve met him. The love of my life.”

Jungkook would stutter but he’s so used to it, so used to you doing this that he doesn’t even react. It’s a common occurrence for you to declare your love for everyone; the man who smiles at you in the street, the man who held a door open for you, the cat who let you rub its belly, the fictional girl in your book, the cute squishy octopus in the window display. Everyone.

He pushes the door closed before turning to the room, takes you sprawled on his sofa in and tries to not feel jealous of this unknown love of your life.

“And what does this one look like?” He says mockingly, feigning disinterest.

You push up onto your elbows, shoot him an offended glare before flopping back down to look at the ceiling. He huffs a laugh before walking towards you, he doesn’t even have to say anything for your legs to lift into the air, making room for him to sit before they plop back down onto his lap. The warmth immediately seeps into him.

“He’s perfect,” the words make Jungkook’s heart pang. “He’s hot as hell but he’s also so sweet, he bought me a coffee and wrote his number on it next to a little smiley face.”
