reason one: we are literally called black.

the color “black” is ruled by saturn. as are dark colors. while many black people come in varied shades, our first black ancestors were notably identified by their dark skin (skin is also ruled by saturn, so it’s doubled up). for ex, “aethiope” is greek for “burned faces” — it later became the name of ethiopia.

reason two: our history of enslavement.

slavery & agricultural labor is ruled by saturn. while slavery isn’t new to human history, the first recorded instance of racialized slavery was a result of the arab slave trade — nearly 5,000 years ago — and black people were the people decided to do the hardest labor. non black slaves were more likely to do domestic labor.

reason three: we get adultified from a young age.

saturn is the planet of maturity, adulthood, & old age. studies show that non black americans view black children as “more adult” than non black children. saturnian children tend to never be allowed to be kids, so it makes sense that black kids never get to be kids.

reason four: our battles with mental health, illness, poverty, & incarceration.

saturn rules emotional repression & depression, as well as isolation and being poor. these are all trans-generational plights stemming from slavery that still plague us today. in fact, cops stem from slave catchers who would try to repress runaway slaves which explains the cycle of black people being disproportionately jailed (even if they’re innocent)

saturn also is the planet that rules mental disorders and illnesses. black people sadly have a very negative view of mental healthcare and are encouraged to just “repress” emotional experiences. saturn’s rulerships of generations show that this is a learned defense to cope with an oppressive system (saturn rules oppression) but in the end, it hurts us more.

reason five: innovative but unappreciated.

this is the aqua-side of us: black people are VISIONARIES. but things that trend within our communities (community is ruled by saturn) are often deemed as socially unacceptable until non black people appropriate it.
