I have this theory that when Sonic visits the chao garden throughout the year, he hatches and takes care of this one chao specifically as well. Much to his surprise the chao ends up taking a form of someone really familiar... turns out Shadows been taking care of his chao too (probs by visiting throughout the night) and Sonic finally catches him when he finds him asleep in a bush lmfao.
