No lies. Was bullied constantly in my youth all the way up until I graduated for being fat, having glasses, and had braces in there, too. Add to that having an eclectic fashion sense and life was hard for me. As an adult, and after getting out of an emotionally abusive marriage, being hit on and told I'm attractive has been the absolute mind fuck of the century. I still have the eclectic fashion sense, but I also get to dye my hair and act how I want without fear of possible abuse. I'm now mostly unapologetically me, and it's a beautiful thing, and also somewhat bewildering to behold.

Today, I submitted a short story to a professional editor. I went to a symposium over the weekend, and there will be two rounds of edits, then submission into a contest. The winners will be published. Here's hoping I get published for the first time.
