Chapter 14: Idol

After locking her locker, Y/N turns to her right, finally taking her rightful way to class after 4 weeks of taking the long way.

They call me artist

As she walks, she smiles at passing friends, giving them as wave as she keeps walking with her head now forward.

They call me Idol

“Y/N!”

Hearing her name, the girl looks around before finding the owl like boy jogging towards her with a big smile on his face.

“Hi! Are you excited for break?”

Y/N nods as she leads them to the side of the hallway as to not be in the way of passing students.

“Yes! I get to hang out with the twins and Suna on New Years and the holidays will sure be fun. Any fun plans, Bo?” Bokuto tilts his head while he thinks, his head suddenly going up while his eye gleam.

“My sisters are coming home for the holidays so that’ll sure be fun! Then I think-“

The boy stops himself, letting Y/N turn her head in confusion, realizing he is avoiding her eyes. She sighs, placing a hand on his shoulder as he meets her eyes again.

“You can say his name Bokuto, he’s not a curse.”

“I know, I just don’t know what you’re feeling and I didn’t want to make you sad if you still were.”

Y/N’s eyes slightly scrunch, letting out a high pitched “aw” as she wraps her arms around his waist, with Bokuto returning the hug.

The two catchup some more, with them departing as the first bell rings. Y/N turns, almost bumping into someone but murmuring an apology as she speed walks, trying to not be late to her class.

“Who was that?”

Bokuto turns his head, lifting his body from leaning on the wall.

“Y/N. Damn, you really have to talk to her man. It’s been a month.”

Akaashi sighs, but silently agrees with Bokuto as they make their way to their own classes.

“Alright guys! Now, I know you’re tired. Last day before break and last class. However! We are going to be doing..”

“Christmas Kahoot.”

Smiles spread as some students highfive. A smile makes a way to Y/N’s lips as she logins the code on the board, holding her phone tightly in hand.

To her left, Akaashi does the same, carrying a smirk on his face.

Whenever study kahoots would happen, the two best friends always argued over who would win, and this time, even if they hadn’t spoken, was no different.

As the game goes on, the teacher smiles, seeing the two rapidly clicking at their phones as to answer, Akaashi getting in the click before Y/N did. She runs a hand through her hair, instinctively turning to her left and giving Akaashi a glare while he smirks as her, sticking out his tongue as she grips her phone tighter, only more determined than before.

A red light illuminates Akaashi’s face while Y/N’s is illuminated green, with a large smile on her face. Turning to her left, she pulls down her under eye, sticking out her tongue as he swats her away in annoyance.

The game ends, both students gripping the table slightly.

“2nd place: L/N Y/N”

“1st place: Akaashi Keiji”

“DAmn”

Y/N places her phone down, the final bell ringing as she relishes in her defeat, grabbing her bag and standing. Akaashi does the same, finally mustering up the courage.

“Hey,” Y/N turns to his voice, immediately feeling awkward as she meets his eyes.

“How does it feel to lose again?” The boy smirks as she scoffs, shoving his shoulder and rolling her eyes, a small smile on her face.

“Well I would’ve won if you didn’t know all of the fuckin reindeer’s names.”

“HEY! Dasher is a very important Reindeer.”

“Yeah right.”

The two bicker some more, the conversation finally sizzling as the classroom is now empty. Y/N grabs her phone, seeing the time and meets his eyes.

“I should go, I have to do dinner.” The boy nods, them exchanges waves as the girl leaves the room, Akaashi letting out a sigh.

“Hey,”

Akaashi’s eyes lift once again, seeing her head pop into the doorway.

“Have a good holiday, Akaashi.” She smiles, turning to leave once again.

Chapter 21: Rollercoaster

It was summer when I saw your face

Akaashi came towards Y/N with two ice creams, a smile brightening on her face as she takes the cone softly from his hands, thanking him while she looks at it.

Both of them start digging in, Akaashi talking about the ducks while Y/N nods randomly, or throwing in some of her own input.

“Hey, Kaashi,” Y/N says, poking his cheek to get him to stop staring at the ducks. His hazy eyes turn to face her slowly, a soft smile on his face. The girls cheeks go a light shade of pink, quickly changing her focus towards her ice cream in attempt to calm herself down.

Y/N get a hold of yourself oh my god, he’s cute I understand that.

She sneaks a look at him once again, taking a bite of his ice cream.

Yeah, I can definitely understand that.

She never liked the boy, only becoming friends a few months ago, but recently it was like he was a plague in her mind, never being able to escape her thoughts.

Not like she wanted him too anyway.

“Where are you thinking of going for high school?”

“I’m not sure, I know it’s between Nekoma and Fukorodani though.” He said, pondering, “I am more of a fan of the black and white though.”

“Really? You’re basing your choosing on colors?”

“Well miss judgement, where are you going?”

“I got accepted into Fukorodani, and they have good college prep so, there.” She gives him a smile, facing towards him.

“Well then,” Akaashi starts, wiping his hands off on his pants and facing her,

“Guess I know where I’m going to school.”

Now I’m running and I can’t stop

Running on a Sunday afternoon was not unordinary, but during the cold April day, it was a little strange for him.

After picking up a sandwich from the corner store, the boy began to eat on a bench, letting his thoughts run free within his mind.

His mind just happened to stumble into the confusing pile of vines that was Y/N.

He didn’t really understand his situation, thinking that just because he thought she was pretty didn’t mean anything. His cheeks getting red whenever she does something cute doesn’t mean anything either. Oh, and definitely not her being in his mind about 22 hours of the day, even in his sleep.

Akaashi sighs, pulling his phone out of his pocket and unlocking it.

“I don’t like her Konoha.”

Akaashi runs a hand through his hair, sighing at Konoha’s pacing.

“ARE YOU FUCKIN- rEEEEE”

Bokuto laughs at Konoha’s yell, the boy falling to the floor along side Bokuto. Bokuto sits up, his eyes following Akaashi’s as he lets out a sigh.

“What do you do if you end up liking her? I mean, not to be blunt but you already denied the girl.”

“Wow, thanks for reminding me.” Akaashi sighs once again, grabbing his water, taking a long slip.

“The minute I think I like her,” Akaashi hums, pondering for a second, his eyes going back to Bokuto, “I’ll call Kuroo.”

“Heeeey Kuroo.”

“Why are you dragging out my name, you never do that, Akaashi are you high?”

“What? No, no god no!” Akaashi says frantically, giving a peculiar look to his phone as if Kuroo can see him.

Akaashi let’s put a heavy sigh, closing his eyes before opening them once again, continuing to walk.

“Okay, you have a decent brain-“

“Okay, rude.”

“I need your honest opinion Kuroo.”

“Go ahead ‘Kaashi.”

Akaashi let’s out a sigh, talking in a soft voice into the phone.

“If you can’t get a girl out of your head, what does that mean?”

Kuroo thinks for a second, processing what Akaashi said. After a few seconds, he has a realization, his eyes widening and his jaw dropping. He wants to make a remark, but he bit his tongue, a smirk coming to his face as he started to snicker.

Akaashi shakes his head, hearing his friend laugh. He pinches his eyes in slight frustration, turning to look at a bird passing.

“Cmon Kuroo, I’m serious.”

“Alright, alright. Well, if you’re thinking about her often,” Kuroo starts, his smirk forming into a smile. While Akaashi can’t see him, they both know that Kuroo is a bit happy at his friends realization.

“You most likely like her, Akaashi.”

Akaashi’s eyes slightly widen, his body on air plane mode. He lowers his phone, hanging up and placing his phone in his pocket, continuing to walk.

Kuroo looks at his phone, seeing Akaashi had hung up.

“That motherfucker.”

“KUROO TETSURO IF I HEAR ONE MORE CURSE COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH I SWEAR-“

“IM SORRY MOM!”
