MomoChakos I did for a secret santa exchange a while back ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ They were admittedly a lot of fun to draw.

So after looking at the older episodes of MHA, specifically the final exam arc, I asked myself.

Why don’t we see Ectoplasm and Tokoyami interact more often? Hell, why don’t we see Tokoyami interning with Ectoplasm?

Think about it. Ectoplasm has much in common with Tokoyami that he can help him through and relate with. Both of them have identical work ethics and treat hero working and training very seriously. Both of them have a terrifying and stoic appearance that belies kind and noble hearts, especially towards their friends. And with their attire similar, Ectoplasm can teach Tokoyami how to defend himself with his own fighting style and possibly improve beyond in case Dark Shadow is unavailable for whatever reason.

Speaking of Dark Shadow, they both also have sentient quirks, so Ecto has a better understanding of what Tokoyami has to go through than most, granted his clones aren’t as rambunctious. Perhaps this could allows us a glimpse into why Ecto is so collected and strict? Like if his clones also copy his current mood, and he was enraged and violent, then there’s thirty to thirty-six extra foul mood clones to contend with. Also, maybe we could see what it’s like for sentient quirks. DS having an existential crisis and one of Ecto’s clones consoles him to the best of their abilities. (Or simply lend an ear)

As for interning, I feel that would have made more sense as well. And I kind of find the ‘bird bros’ thing a little one sided, seeing as how much of Tokoyami’s growth was essentially by himself, while Hawks was infiltrating the Meta Liberation Army. At least with Ecto, he would have had a teacher that was actively in his life to help and encourage him. Yes, Hawks helped Toko come up with Black Fallen Angel, but I feel Ectoplasm would have also helped come up with that move as well. After all, he helps students that have quirks that are nothing like his come up with special moves.
