Oh to be a gremlin child again. Covered in grass stains and grazes, hair unbrushed with daisies in the knots, no concept of my own physicality, half way up a tree and eating an apple around my missing tooth. To be unabashedly ugly, to be unashamedly hungry, to be healthy and hearty and lean and covered in bruises and full of love and sun warmed strawberries. To feel time stretch forever, only flying when I fall into books. To love summer once more, and her insects and sweat.

I think my favorite thing about hockey as a fandom is that everyone seems to independently go “This specific idiot is my idiot. I have picked him out of the whole pile of idiots because he is special.” Criteria is different for everyone, but it’s something we’ve all kind of agreed to do. BUT at the same time, we look around our team(s) and agree, “Your idiot is also a very special idiot, and that’s nice. Here’s a picture of him.”

do you ever get into one of those moods where your heart aches and longs for something so deeply but you dont know what and your heart is like a stubborn toddler screaming i want it !!!! please give it to me !!!! And you’re desperately like i don’t know what kind of emotionally fulfilling experience to give you at 3 PM on a Wednesday !!!!!!!!!
