I'd say the only truth to that is the idea that MORE money than you need-... NAH! I want a cottage/beach house in every climate so I can move around throughout the year to always be in ideal weather. Also to never work, of course. And my close friends can come with me. Here's my actual thought: Having so much money that no one's happy with you unless you're spending it on them is the point that too much money is bad (to specifically you). Another thought: If you had all that, wouldn't you become very angry and defensive if someone threatened to take it away? Someone says you need to pay higher wages and suddenly a lot of your happiness is GONE. They took it from you and soon they'll want MOOORE. The problem is when you are addicted to the kind of happiness money brings to the point of dependency. If you suddenly stop deserving it because life changes, then it feels like the people who need it more are BAD. The drop from perfect life would be such a loss that emotionally it wouldn't register that you weren't hurt and your life is still better than most. I think the reason why we've never dealt with the social problem of greed is that we give NO empathy to those who experience it. This reinforces the impression that everyone who deserves better from you only want you to suffer for their benefit. You can't perceive things clearly when angry and losses of happiness do that very effectively. Also doesn't help that people actually feel that way. (Jeez why am I going on so long) It's very easy to justify hating selfish rich pricks who maximize profits at our expense, but really hard to effectively use those feelings to fix anything. If the norm is to hate those that take from you, in a society that requires give and take, then everyone hates each other and the person with the biggest stick wins. WHERE THE FUCK WAS THIS WRITING CAPACITY IN COLLAGE?!?! TLDR: The people with money are only going to let go if you are a part of what makes their life good; so hating them all isn't gonna fix anything. I dunno what exactly to do though. Be a community that they don't want to see go away because it's a place that makes them feel fulfilled and appeals to their civic pride maybe? Just throwing thoughts out there. Probably wrong about a few things (Stop writing fucker)
