what is it about emma & alyssa actresses and this specific brand of chaotic energy

Can I just say:

Shelby plays the French horn because she’s “not like other girls” alternatively also the clarinet or color guard

Nick is absolutely an asshole trumpet (everyone hates them and loves them, don’t date a trumpet)

And I can totally see Emma rocking out on her trombone (she loves doing suicides, the like swinging and spinning in a line thing that trombones do, it’s really cool, look it up)

I really want to do a prom marching band au. As someone who has been in high school marching band, I have lots of great experiences and memories from it.

My current idea is to have Emma and Alyssa being co drum-majors (for those who don't know, the drum major is the person who conducts the band and acts as a student leader), I feel like Kaylee is definitely a guard girl, Kevin can rock the tenor drums, and I am unsure about Shelby and Nick.

Of course, the broadway actors from the original show would be the instructors. Typing this I instantly got the idea of Angie being a mentor to little Winnie in addition to Barry being Emma's mentor. I might just make Barry be Emma's Godfather just for the heck of it.

I think that I might write a one-shot as a test pilot, and if I form enough ideas I might make it a longer series. I might make them Juniors (with Winnie being a freshman) so that I could potentially make this last longer.

I just finished writing Act 1 of my movie rewrite fic, and I am suddenly fueled with ideas for this one. I might just put that fic on hiatus (after I post the remaining chapters of act 1) so that I can work on this idea.

So, time for me to binge marching band shows while I try and form something with this idea.
