You guys are getting the music rant! I find it so rich that fans of bands will get SO MAD when their favourite band changes their style at all. or gets even slightly popular.

No guys this one song isn't evil poison it just did well on the charts and acting like it permanently changed the band is so ridiculous, and the fact that people act like that is so obviously just either them getting annoyed from overexposure or a want to be unique and only have underground tastes. It's super obvious but the way that people are BLAMING THE BAND? for the fact that that annoys them? That's so entitled to get mad that a band you apparently care about hits some success lord!

If you don't like newer music or albums cool, but to harp on and on and to make up reasons that frankly don't make sense to justify it other than just 'oh this isn't my thing anymore' is so silly? Because it really feels like you feel entitled to art that's tailored for you. The sentiment of 'I wish this artist just kept on making music exactly like my favourite of theirs forever' is fine but when it becomes your opinion of why their newer music is worse that's honestly poison. I personally wouldn't want my favourite musicians to make incredibly similar music forever that's not a positive creative fate in the slightest?

Not to mention how obvious it is that these criticisms are based on the best/favourite songs. 'this entire album isn't as good as these one or two songs from previous albums' that's how it works! You're biased to consider the songs you love the most, if your favourite artist creates albums where you consider every song to be just as much your favourite good for you but that's not how I feel.

And the only reason I feel entitled to be bitter about this is a) it's really ruining my experience wanting to talk about newer music online b) THEY DO THIS EVERYTIME ANYONE RELEASES NEW MUSIC. please reconsider how you consider art jeez
