“Yoongichi”
“yes, hyung?”
“I love you”
“... I love you too”
As proud as I can be of ARMY some days, sometimes I really feel like the dark side of KPOP really brings out the worst in people. I think Tae was absolutely right when he said about 90% of army’s are supportive of what chapter two holds for BTS, but honestly the other 10% I’ve seen today has made me just grossed out to put it simply.
These 7 people have given up their lives and their 20s as normal people to pursue something they love and to dedicate their time and pour their hearts and souls into making music for the world and the fans they love, and when they FINALLY are able to take a break after nearly TEN YEARS that’s somehow not enough??? Imagine finally getting to pursue your passion and do something that you’re excited for and you feel matters after such a long period of uncertainty and you’re met with, “Well I didn’t want solo music from them I just want them to be a group." Like that is such a slap in the face when they haven't even gotten a chance to release what they have been working on for so long and are genuinely excited to show parts of them that they haven't been able to previously.
I truly feel as some people need a reminder that how accessible KPOP makes celebrities isn’t normal!! They are not dolls on a stage they are real living human beings when deserve to do whatever makes them happy. If they wanted to fuck off to another country or disappear into the mountains that’s their right because they are their own people first, but we are lucky enough that their sincerity and their transparency is something that is really important to them. BTS doesn’t owe us anything because at the end of the day we signed up to be fans, and frankly if someone can’t act right there’s millions of other people who can and will buy the same merch and show up to the same concerts and sing the same songs. Feel free to add your thoughts if I missed anything but sometimes it’s so discouraging to read what some people have to say when you know the members do look online and do keep up with what’s being discussed.
