Unpopular opinion, but if you want a friendship or other relationship to work out, sometimes you have to text first. Sometimes you gotta be the one to reach out. Sometimes you have to be the one who initiates and invites. Yes, even though it's anxiety inducing and you're afraid of bothering them. You can't just sit back and wait for everyone to come to you and then get mad when eventually people get tired of doing all the work and leave you behind for someone who's willing to and capable of meeting them halfway. "If they really cared they'd come to me" goes both ways - and you can't continue to put zero active effort into your relationships and then wonder why you're lonely.

You run a tattoo parlor. Every couple of weeks, the same customer comes in, always requesting the same tattoo: an additional tally mark on an ever-growing cluster of tally marks.

I have this really bad habit of sending two unrelated texts back to back but bridging them with an “also”
