a/n: this was my first ever drabble which I had written without a lead and had written this around my exam time, craving comfort like this, and I did. I found comfort in writing and I hope whoever reads this would find abit of peace from our stupid and messed up world. if you'd like, you can listen to this while reading.

you've had a long day. you think you've done enough but your mind says otherwise. you walk home, hearing the tell-tale sounds of a thunderstorm and walk faster, not wanting to get caught in the downpour. you walk in, just in the nick of time. you take off your shoes and lean against the wall, sighing softly. you put your head down, wanting to curl up and shut your eyes so that it could silence the demeaning thoughts. you feel like you could burst but then,

"hey sweetheart."

you look up to find the source of the honey-like voice, just to find it looking at you with utmost softness. Jungkook pulls you close to him and gives you a gentle hug. knowing the thunderous thoughts in your head, he says, "you worked so hard today and i know you did, so i made your favorite dessert." you tear up, maybe at the sweet gesture or maybe at the way he was holding you or maybe because it finally felt like the thoughts were slowly dissipating.

"i-i didn't," you say, "i could've done so much more better. i feel l-like," you take a deep breath and he rubs your back gently. the rain slowly taking over the night, he looks at you with kind eyes, urging you to let it all out. and so you do. you rant and sob about your stressful day, how the people around you were and how your overthinking mind wouldn't stop ever since you woke up today.

"i'm an open wound," you blubber, "and it feels like salt is continuously being rubbed on me." you wail into his chest and hug him tightly, wanting nothing but relief. you get your relief when you hear, "i'm your bandaid, remember? always will be here to help you heal. always here to lean on and to fall on. i'm your bandaid, your cushion and your safe place. just like how you are mine."

he pulls back slightly so that he could see your face. "i will help you heal, i promise. help you with the war in your head. help you through the storm and be with you after it." he wipes your cheeks gently, which had tears cascading down relentlessly, just like the storm going outside.

"remember," lifting your face so you're looking at him. "its you and me against the world, sweetheart."
