LiEat: The Lie-Eating Dragon and the Forgotten-Color Songstress is a book by △○□× (Miwashiba), a novel based on their Wolf RPG Editor game series of the same title. The series as a whole follows a con artist of many names and a young dragon girl named Efina who can eat people’s lies. The novel is a story which precedes the games about Violet Town, a town with the legend of a mythical wish-granting bluebird. I encourage you to buy the book to support Miwashiba. All the illustrations are by them; there are some color ones in the front, and numerous grayscale illustrations in the chapters. Summary: In the Black Cabin, you’re merging all the timeline branches into a single one. The pressure not to make a mistake, not to misstep, is enormous on you and your concentration is strained to the max. But then you hear a faint call in the far reaches of the universe.

Sweat drips from the bangs plastered on your forehead, sliding down your face, but you don’t dare to wipe it away, too afraid of breaking your own concentration.

It’s hard to put into words what you’re actually doing. No physical actions are involved but, as you walk through infinite space, the doors to other universes seem to slam shut in your wake with nothing but your will.

The only sound you hear are your footsteps and these closing doors. Li Zeyan had been beside you at the beginning but now he wasn’t here. You aren’t worried though because, somehow, you can feel his solid presence around you, supporting you. It doesn’t make the effort of closing all the branches any easier though.

Finally, after some time, you allow yourself to stop for a short rest. This is when you wipe at the sweat on your face and breathe out. You don’t know how many doors you’ve closed, or how many more there are, but you know you can’t stop.

You take in a deep breath, fortifying your resolve, and then take another step.

That’s when it happens.

Somewhere between the 177th door—or was it the 194th door—something tugs at you, for lack of a better word. There’s a reverberation through your body, like someone plucked at your soul, and somehow you hear their echoing resonance in the endless distance.

The resonance almost sounds like a voice… one you would never mistake.
