hi winter ! i really like your writing style and am inspired to write like you (hope this doesn’t come off weird) but whenever i write i feel like everything is so wrong and it always ended up being short/small word count . i feel like i’m obsessed with the word count ? because i want my word count to be at least 5k or more . also do you have any tips for a new writer or those who wants to write but don’t know where to start ?

just a disclaimer that my advice and words came from my personal experiences and observations.

about word count, i think for me; yes word count is important for me bcs it shows my milestones, how far have i improved to be able to write over certain word count but my mindset changed after i always stressed out about word count. word count doesnt mean anything if the content is not it, right? i think u should not mind about word count much ^^ just write what you think you can and are capable of. everyday you improve. same goes to the length of your story, once you get the hold of proper writing, proper description, your basic word count probably will 4k plus minus!

but honestly, word count doesnt matter. that’s what i wanted to press. ^^ just go with the flow, write whatever and the final word count is the end.

as for advice for new writers or someone who wants to start writing, i do not think im fit to give quality advice since im not a very pro writer 💀

but for the new writers, i think i don’t have many to say? you are new and bound to get to know new infos as you continue to write. your key is to consume and to produce 💌 consume anything that could be applied to writing, and produce your masterpiece!

for those who doesnt know where to start, i suggest the same thing, consume and produce. if you are afraid that not many ppl will like your work, it’s fine :( there will be at least ONE and that is me. come to me, i am available to help you within my capabilities ^^

The paper cup was held tightly in his hand. He had dropped a tea bag inside , Chamomile. It usually helped with nerves. He watched the girl through the glass, she didn’t look particularly nervous but she did look distraught. The dark eye bags gave away the limited sleep she must have endured, her oversized hoodie making her look smaller than she really was. The added bad posture wasn’t helping either. Her shoulders were slumped, her arms resting on the table in front of her as she stared down at her hands.

Detective Namjoon sighed, opening the door which immediately caused her to turn her head over to him. He gave her a reassuring smile, passing her the plastic cup as he seated himself across from her. His long limbs sat a bit awkwardly on the small chair but he squared his shoulders nonetheless.

“I understand you said she had been acting a little strange for the past few days.” He stated, maintaining a steady gaze on the girl.

“Did she have any mental health issues that you know of? Was she struggling with depression, anxiety or anything of the sort?”

Mina swallowed, bringing her eyebrows together in feigned concernment.

“No, not that I know of.” She explained, letting out another shaky breath. “ It’s just, she was acting really paranoid like, just off, you know?”

Namjoon listened, nodding slowly as another question sat on his tongue.

“Was she scared of someone perhaps? An ex-boyfriend, someone she was romantically involved with?”

“No, I mean the last boyfriend she had was over a year ago and he transferred to another college months ago.” Mina shook her head, then hesitated a bit. “But-“

The detective raised an eyebrow in question, eyes darting around her face as he silently urged her to continue.

“But..?” He added quietly, the girl seemed to be unsure of herself which wasn’t always a good sign. The behavior usually signaled she was holding back, knew a bit more than she was willing to confidently say or was afraid of saying it.

“She had a crush, a guy in our college.” She replied, frowning slightly. “ Jaehyun. I don’t why I brought it up, it’s just a stupid crush.”
