Hey, All. I Wanted To Take A More Focused Direction With My Blog, So I Purged Most Of The Posts I Had

Hey, all. I wanted to take a more focused direction with my blog, so I purged most of the posts I had that weren’t art/game related. Hopefully now I’ll be posting more art and writing stuff, sorry if you followed for the memes :P. I’ll probably make another blog for the funny unrelated stuff and link it at some point. This is the first (and only, so far) animation I’ve done on my computer.

First time free painting! I've gone to 'wine and canvass' events before, but never anything serious. I used some old gouache paints I found. This is of an island you can see from my grandparent's house in Maine. Sorry about quality, my phone's camera sucks.
World Building- Omens- General Overview
So I’m working on a species and I need a place to throw out ideas. The species in question are called Omens (for now, I am beginning to hate the word cause I type it so much), and they’re a solitary nomadic race of ‘reapers’, so to speak. They eat the energy of dying creatures as sustenance. Not sure how that entirely works yet. Basically, their powers/abilities include:
Shape-shifting: They can shift to mimic the physical traits of a different species (Omens will stay on one planet for years at a time before moving on, they live for quite a while). They longer they mimic a species for, the better they get at it. If one gets particularly good, they can change internal organs to match those of the other species. The only thing that none of them can change is blood color, which will always be blue.
Time-sense: Based off of the one from Doctor Who. Since Omens deal with Death, they needed a way to tell when a creature was about to die. So, they can sense timelines. It’s nothing fancy like in Death Note, and it’s not absolute either. So, to explain, timelines in this context are when a person is most likely to die next. It’s a divergence in a creature’s timeline specifically at times when the wrong decision means death. It plays into the butterfly effect just a little bit. I still haven’t figured it all out yet, but I wanted to keep the aspect of free will in with the idea of being able to see someone’s death date. A little build off of this is an Omen’s ability to know the Time anywhere in the universe. This is usually non-linear, so it makes little sense to humans, who use and measure time in a linear fashion, but they make good stopwatches.
Unlike Time Lords, though, Omens have no control over Time and cannot travel through it or change the past.
So, that’s a very general overview. I’m having a lot of fun trying to build my own species from the ground up! I want to flesh out the entire society of the species, including their own planet! I have a character from this species named James. I love him with my heart. I should probably go to bed.

This is the Star Whale from the Doctor Who episode 'The Beast Below'. I loved the design and the whole episode, so I had to draw it. I left it a bit unfinished cuz I screwed up the tail and got mad, but I liked the lineart too much not to post it.

I’ve been listening to exclusively ballroom-esque classical music for the past several days so I drew Alvis doing ballet! He’s so satisfying to draw as well
