— nishinoya is a hyperactive ball of sunshine and rainbows. he seldom looked down, even in the most dire situations. he would hold a bright spark of enthusiasm and glee behind his eyes that were narrowed in sheer focus. lei admired that side of him; she was thankful that she often saw it as she stood from afar, pompoms in hand as she cheered in her head for every receive he gets. she felt a small smile tugging her lips upward at each ‘rolling thunder’ he screams out. she wondered briefly if her cold and generally aloof attitude bothered him. she wondered if he felt unloved by how much she prefers to listen and sleep in, often denying his offers to go out and have fun in favor of staying in bed and hiding away from the world. she wondered if the dimming light in her eyes made him uncomfortable. lei didn’t know how to bring it up but she somehow managed as nishinoya laid snuggly beside her in her small, cozy bedroom, as he did after every volleyball match. barely awake after exhausting his energy he said, to me you’re like the moon. paling in contrast to the sun but bright and beautiful in your own way. ehe, i read that in a book somewhere but it fits, no? you’re always there even when no one seems to notice you. you make me shine and you take over when i’m too tired or too down. you look after me and i have never doubted your love or your shine. never. lei felt her skin heat up with each word nishinoya spouted in his dream-induced daze. as she fiddled with the hem of her dress in a feeble attempt to calm down, she grinned brighter than ever before. if nishinoya was the sun then she’s more than content to being the moon if it meant he’d be close by.

OMG, did you hear the news?, his text reads. Of course I did. How could I not? JVA’s local asshole got fired for accidentally leaking one of the more popular athlete’s phone number on Instagram and the news travelled like wildfire on crack. Hell yeah I fucking did (˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵) Wanna get an early lunch to rant about it?, I reply back. Kuroo can’t help but chuckle at my message, fingers already typing out his reply and hitting send before slotting his phone back into his pocket. A gleeful grin settles on his face, and a faint blush could be seen if anyone looked hard enough. If they asked him about it, he’d say he had a date.

Miya Osamu

He thought I’d gone insane. His face was screwed into a mix between disgust and disbelief, almost scowling at me for even making this monstrosity, let alone offer him a bite — cream cheese and butter on a cold slice of white bread. I tell him indignantly that it’s fucking delicious with a smile already tugging at my lips, and he tells me that he thinks I’m going to have a heart attack soon (he’s not wrong about that though). A moment passes in silence before he sighs, and my smile turns into a grin. I knew he’d fold. He was a foodie at heart, always curious. Hesitantly, Osamu takes a bite, and when the taste hits his tongue, he wishes he hadn’t. I start to laugh at the comical flurry of emotions passing him, and he can’t help but have a smile of his own start to take place at my amusement, but not without a fond eye roll of course.

i had so many ideas while i was out getting some air (and a haircut. farewell rapunzel lei) but now that i’m ready to write, i can remember a single one
