One lesser known fact about cybertronians, is that their sparks are heavy.

Not in the emotional or spiritual sense, but in the very literal sense.

There's a lot of energy and mass condensed into a spark, this is the reason the sparkchamber is always located near the center of the chest area, for a better distribution of weight and balance.

But even so, it's not really a weight one is aware of. After all is just another part of you, just as any other limb or internal component.

One knows that their arm would be significantly heavy if severed and weighted, but while connected, it's just one of those things we never really think about.

That was the case for Orion Pax.

That is not the case for Optimus Prime.

Ever since the Matrix choose him, changed him, his spark grew a thousand times heavier.

Some days, it feels heavy enough to tear right through his chest armor.

They say the Matrix contains the wisdom of all previous Primes, but Optimus knows better.

It's not just their wisdom.

It's everything.

Their hope, their guilt, their love, their rage.

Orion Pax's spark died the day the Matrix touched it. It died drowned by a thousand other sparks.

Optimus Prime does not bulge under the massive weight.

He does not allow himself to do so.
