Hi Everyone!!!! Ok I Have Been Thinking About This Since Last Night, How The Writing Community Can Do

Hi everyone!!!! Ok I have been thinking about this since last night, how the writing community can do something for Gaza. So please weigh in on my thoughts below, this is an interest check and if enough people are interested I will go ahead and set up a blog for this:

Writers:

Option 1: “sponsor a WIP”

make a list of your WIPs that you are willing to actively work on in a post that I can link to. Then, your followers can “tip” you to advance your fic in the form of donations to Gaza.

Option 2: requests

You can say that you are open to requests and I will link your blog. People can then approach you to fulfill requests in exchange for donations. This can be full commission style or can be prompts, this is up to the writer. They would have to follow all the rules of your blog as normal. It is in your control.

Initially my thought was $5 donation for 500 words but you can set your own rate if you want to.

Readers:

You will make donations to vetted gofundmes or other organizations (I’ll link to posts that feature vetted places to donate). Then you will screenshot proof of your donation and send it to the writer that you wish to either sponsor their wip or request a fic from. That way they directly know that you donated.

Hello Lee . I am around your age and also half korean and I think you might understand what I am going through because I believe that during this time of being 17 to 20 we change social circles , a lot of friendships make and break , many relationship up downs happen.

I am in the last year of my school. I had good intentions but the way I came across to most people was like a person who is mean and selfish. you know I made the popular girl of my class my bestfriend . she was very kind but very smart. my biggest regret is that when she was going through a lot I didn't have the courage to stand up for her. she was accused of some crime but she was later proven guilty. she is a girl with self respect and after that incident she stopped talking to me. the whole class now hates me but I feel guilty too

she was the best girl I met but my own lack of courage made me lose her. my life has been an absolute wreck since then even though it happened months ago. I just feel so bad , like I had wronged the girl who stood up for me when I needed it. and it seems that my ex bestfriend doesn't care , like me going from her life didn't even affect her the slightest bit

sorry if I ranted too much. my single mother is just too busy paying bills to listen to me rant about some nonsense that was purely my fault

Hi!! I'm so sorry to hear what you've been going through. I agree that there's a lot of dramatic change during this period in our lives, and it can be really uncertain.

Seeing as I wasn't part of the situation, there's not much I can say, but from what you sent me I can tell that you tried your best and feel bad about how the situation worked out.

Maybe try telling your friend what you told me in this ask? I don't have enough context to give you solid advice, but if she really cares about you I think she'll be open to at least talking to you if you tell her what you told me.

Don't feel like you ranted too much, I'm honored that you felt safe enough to come to me with your feelings. Again, I'm not sure because I wasn't there, but I don't think this situation was your fault. You mentioned that your friend was proven guilty, right? I think that would mean that at the very least, it wasn't entirely your fault.

There's not much more I can offer you, other than to tell you that while change can be scary, and often sad, the only way to reach a better place is forwards. If you keep looking back and regretting what you can't change, you're going to miss all the wonderful opportunities headed your way!!

And for what it's worth, I don't think you're a coward. I've been in situations where I didn't speak up but I wish I had, but I don't think that makes me a coward. It just makes me someone who is going to try harder in the future to speak up for what I believe in.

how it works (you): send me an ask with the wip you're donating towards and a screenshot of your donation to any fund from this list, a charity of your choice (please make sure it's verified), or my preferred one here! please do not send the same screenshot to multiple authors, and please make sure any personal information is scrubbed from your screenshot as i will be supplying @ficsforgaza with the proof of your donation!! i will aim to update the donated wc section of each wip in this post so there's not overlap in what people are donating for.

how it works (me): i will log my progress below each wip (the progress tracker section of each) & will commit to updating that count weekly. i will work in the rough order of donations received, by adding that number of words to each wip. this also means that for $5 i could add 500 words but not publish until the chapter or oneshot is completed, so please be aware of that!! my goal is to at least publish every single word people have donated for by end of year, but obviously things can happen & i will provide updates if anything gets in the way of that!
