A3! 5 year anniversary countdown: Day 13
I'm gonna be real blunt here, Hisoka threw me off so hard at first because he felt so out of place to me. A3 likes taking its 'everybody is an actor and it's all found family' plotline and using it to EVERY EXTREME IT CAN TAKE IT (and I love it for that but that's not the point).
You walk into this game with its little PG rating and its cute little artstyle and its simple little setting— and in walks Hisoka Mikage, a man with amnesia who is heavily implied to have been some kind of secret agent that got involved in some real bloody business and feels all sorts of trauma from it (which is then later on CONFIRMED), and oh he's also insanely addicted to marshmallows and he's narcoleptic, cool. But somehow, they took all that baggage, and they incorporated it into the aforementioned simple storyline in a way that works?? It's actually really well done and packs a good emotional punch and I love Hisoka and he's one of my favorite characters?? This is one hell of a game ( ; _ ;)
