“The meaning of summer”—
Somebody please tell me what it is…

Act I - Echoing Prayers
no. 00
Within the clear, blue sky, beneath the scorching heat,
my heart and truest feelings
echo, echo, echo.
.
Are these my sincere,
lifelong,
purest feelings?
.
.

Act II - Sunset Memory
no. 07
.
I want to hear your voice again.
Don’t want to lose your smile again.
A whisper that doesn’t reach my ears.
The fault forever lies in my heart.
.
I can’t hear that voice.
I can’t understand.
.
The vibrant sunset stains the white room,
dying everything orange and red—
A scenery forever scorched into my mind.
A palette forever matching your eyes.
.
The single thought in my mind
filled with
Memories
of that day:
“Just don’t leave me again.”
.
“Red, please.”
“Though I cannot forget—”
.
“Though I cannot understand—”
“Though I’d never understood in my whole life—”
.
Beneath the glowing sunset I whisper out your name.

Act III - Monochrome Epilogue
no. 00
.
Allow me to retell
an additional memory that doesn’t reach the eyes.
.
Strike, fall, blue, red.
I cannot forget
the pure white memories of that room.
.
This monochrome credits roll is my final epilogue,
but how I hate these red curtains.
This tragedy unfolds without me,
and the heroine has fallen down.
.
That bridge. That time. That feeling.
Those scenes that I’m forced to watch.
These sunset memories stain my tears
and I cannot stop them from flowing down.
.
All protagonists have a fatal flaw—
The cowardice. The silence.
The suffering of unspoken feelings.
.
Therefore, my own spotlight forever avoids me.
In my eyes are colours that forever remind me.
The cruel playwright who penned this tragedy,
how I wish I could change their mind with tears.
.
With every reload, those actors go into position
Again.
Again.
Again.
Again.
.
These tears cannot stop flowing,
but they’re shed upon a stage with
no one else to see in the audience.
A monochrome monologue with feelings unresolved.
.
I cannot avoid this fate,
yet I wish for this play to spare them all.
Red, I really beg of you.
Please, no more.

Act IV - Afterglow Memory
no. 07
.
Within these red eyes
dazed lights flicker.
Within this dark self,
are there colours?
.
Is there a proper way to live?
The one called “Kisaragi”—
is he “me”?
.
Please.
.
Upon that bridge washed in the afterglow
of the sunset, of the sky, of the warmth shining down.
I won’t ever forget that scenery,
but then again,
I won’t ever understand its meaning…
.
With these memories scorched into my mind,
I’ll thank you for your existence,
and aim towards the future that will surely come.

Act V - Favourite Theory

.
I don’t want to see that smile of yours fading away.
Could that bright red colour possibly be
the remains of someone’s tears?
Please answer.
.
I’m here for you.
It’s not your fault.
Big sister is here for you, always.
.
I will protect you until the end,
no matter how dark future days are.
Let us live a long, happy life.
Let us aim for that shooting star.
.
Please.
I don’t want to see you cry again.
.
I will do my best to bring colour
into your black and white world,
because I’m sure these eyes
Favour
a world saturated with happiness and love.

Epilogue - August Fireworks
.
Fireworks glow against the night sky.
.
These summer days will see its end.
This play will have its curtains drawn. The final bows, the curtain calls.

The period to this August tale.

Ok I’m going to try and answer what I can as a resident lore appreciator. Also I’m not answering these in order lol.
ALSO! BIG SPOILER WARNING!!
Some things simply cannot be answered because we will never know. Seto doesn’t like to read minds so we will never know what would happen if he read awakenings because he simply would not do it. And if he did, I’m sure it would probably be something as simple as “I want some nigma”. Konoha may be a husk, but he is still capable of thought. The best way I can describe him is, bare with me, he’s like frosty the snow man. Just suddenly coming to life with no idea how the world works and only basic knowledge of how to stay alive told to him by Kenjirou. Konoha is capable of thought because he is capable of making “I want” statements. Yes the “I want to be with friends” is just left over of Haruka, but other statements like about his favorite food or other things he enjoys mean he is capable of having his own thoughts. So I feel like Seto would read his mind like he would read anyone else’s, and get the same results, but we don’t know because he would never do it. Sorry I rambled and realized I read your question wrong but I mean, yeah I don’t think Konoha would notice.
The manga is implied to be the very first timeline, because it is not only the creation of Yaki but also it is so vastly different from the other ones. The results of that timeline is what caused the changes in everyone else’s. Even if they don’t remember, Seto *knows* not to take Marry home. Haruka *knows* he is able to do to school. Momo *knows* to join the Dan. That is the only timeline Shintaro doesn’t explicitly remember but that doesn’t mean he isn’t effected by it. Every timeline leaves an impact on the Dan, even if they don’t realize it.
I feel like if Azami knew about the loops she would have brought it up to Kido in the daze in the novels so we can assume she is unaware. She didn’t create retaining eyes, remember? She doesn’t have any control over the powers Marry creates and therefore doesn’t have those powers. Saeru is a snake himself and to be honest, I don’t know how he knows and Konoha doesn’t because Konoha is also a pure snake. I guess it’s because he’s self aware?
That’s what happens in every route. In the end of the novels it shows that everyone is still there in the daze. It’s also what happens to Haruka and Ayano, everyone is just simply in the daze. Now if you meant they die before they get their snake, I guess that means the snake will go to another person.
Next paragraph is irrelevant because snakes don’t die with their masters because the masters never fully die, they just return to the daze until the reset.
Also we can never know the answer to the last one but I don’t think he would have the power to make himself exist in the first place, he is still a servant to the Medusa, so she would have to do that.
Hope this helped!!! The snakes are so fascinating!
I've questions!! :'>
If you've ever seen my amino, you'll know what's the smiley face for--
Ahem, so!
The snakes' existence is always based on a wish, right? And if a wish is accomplished the snake dies, right? But what if a person - the "owner" of a snake - dies first, what happens? Does the snake die with them or does it go back into the daze?
Now, let's assume snakes die with their "master", here are some other questions: if Shintaro died in the second manga route and resetting timeline caused Yaki to appear again in the next timeline, does it mean that we don't have a full record of all the timelines that happened before their death? Like, do the memories of previous timelines erase or..?
Does it mean that the only two people knowing about all the timelines are Saeru and Azami? (Wait.. does Azami remember all the routes or no-)
I can't remember what the second question was so here's an another one: if Saeru (or basically any other snake) is killed in some way and then Marry resets the timeline, does Saeru become alive again?
And also, let's say we have Seto and Konoha (or Saeru, idk, they're the only "snake people" i know really :^). If Seto tries to read Konoha/Saeru's mind what happens? Does the latter know about it somehow, do they feel that someone's trying to read their mind with the Stealing eyes or does it go unnoticed?
Oof.. i hope it's readable :'>
Aaa, also! If Saeru finds a "master" who's wish would be simlpy for him to exist.. like.. y'know, just a wish for the Clearing eyes not to disappear what happens then? Like,, Saeru gets to live as long as that person lives? (If that wish never changes, of course) Does Saru "take care" of that person in order for them to live longer, like, so that he gets to live longer? :^^
