A quote I found on the TRNCG petition that I think fits very well to the different situations we've had this past year.

From Ikon and Monsta X being slandered with rumors with absolutely NO evidence and their members dropped because of it, to YG managing Blackpink, Winner, and ALL their artists so badly, to TS neglecting and abusing their artists (some of which are MINORS).....

I've seen so many people complain about how the international community stereotypes all S.Koreans because of how they see the Kpop industry. That the Kpop Industy and what happens in the Kpop Industry isn't representative of all S.Koreans and how they think and act.

BUT, this is what we see first. Your artists and your companies are the representatives of your country. I saw a story a IMBB living in Korea posted about how she was telling her friend, a native korean, about what was happening with Wonho and MX and that her friend brushed it off and said "oh that always happens. People get upset about a company dropping an idol for whatever reason, but they settled down to it because the companies never listen to the customers."

You're adding to the stereotypes by being complacent about idols and celebrities being slandered without evidence, being mistreated and mishandled by their companies, ESPECIALLY if they're a foreign artists from somewhere like China or Japan or Thailand or Taiwan or SOMEWHERE that isn't S.Korea, about CHILDREN being neglected and beaten and starved, forced to pay their own hospital bills because the company won't lift a finger to help.

I'm not saying that the international community is squeaky clean and straight and narrow. We have our own issues we have to deal with and how the world views us, and we're working slowly (so so so slowly) on fixing it.

However, that doesn't change the fact that this is what the rest of the world sees first of S.Korea. After they get interested by the bright colors and flashy MVs and EXTREMELY talented artists, they see what they call "The Factory". They see the neglect, they see the abuse, they see how a whole nation condemns and ruins an artists career from bringing something from 7-10 years ago (WITH NO PROOF), they see the thousands of starving, bruised and helpless kids lined up with fear in their eyes to APOLOGISE that their company for exposed for their mistreatment.

So, maybe instead of complaining about how the rest of the world sees you, you should work to correct what you put out into it. Protect your artists. Protect their mental and physical health. Protect them from being condemned and ruined when there is no proof. PROTECT THEM FROM MALICIOUS COMMENTS. GET THEM HELP WHEN THEY ASK FOR IT. They're not toys, they're not slaves, they're not products. They're humans that represent your country, and your complacent and condemning attitude is what's harming them.
