A Valentine's Day story about Barbara and Strickler, perhaps when they were still in the early stages of their relationship

Oooh okay! I like this. I'd think by early stages of the relationship it would be set during season one part two, and Walter is still uncertain about the relationship he and Barbara are in. To say nothing of the situation with Jim making it awkward, with the binding spell.

Strickler never liked Valentine's day. Just another silly human custom he doesn't understand.

Barbara thinks otherwise and drags him to a special event happening in a hall, where couples write little love letters to each other, and hang them on a plastic tree. Just the usual fun things that pop up on Valentine's day. Obviously Jim and Claire are there too, and Walter is determined not to be seen. There's a little bit of hide and seek, until Jim and Claire leave, and then Barbara writes her little love letter, and Walter does too. They read ecah others, and Strickler thinks maybe this isn't so bad.

Then they decide to get their fortune read by a woman who claims to know when a couple are fated.

The result is... Interesting. The woman tells them that their fate lies together, but that first there would be a great reckoning and one of them is not who they say they are, but their true selves will be loved. Here, the woman stares at Walter knowingly.

Fast forward several months later, and Barbara and Walter know exactly what the fortune teller meant. And Walter thinks that maybe there is some merit in Valentine's day.
