I feel like I haven't interacted with nobody on this platform, and I'd like to change that. ｡◕‿◕｡

Hi, I'm Yahaira and I am a 20 yr old (almost 21) cosmetology student.

I used to binge watch anime during high school (Dr. Stone, MHA, Spy x family, etc.) and I'd like to get back into it, so I would love if you give me some recommendations.

I used to draw and read alot and I would love to get back into it and improve my art skills.

I feel like this post is a lil dry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, but I don't have much more information to add since I pretty much only go out to 3 places, home, class, and work, and I don't really do anything much besides studying, doom scrolling, and reading fanfic (T⌓T)

I'll updates this in the future when I actually know how to do stuff on the website and do something interesting

With the recent events in Apalachee High School, I've been thinking long and hard about this. Will gun violence ever end? We've had constant tragedies and reminders of the state our country is in. We shouldn't be in a place where children are scared for their lives in the one place they should feel safe. As a student in America I'm concerned for whats next. Gun violence has taken so many innocent lives and it's honestly terrifying thinking of how the kids must've felt. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families dealing with this loss. Rest in peace to the four students and teachers who lost their lives, and safe recoveries to the 9 who were injured.

He is 14

He's a child. He is a child.

When I was fourteen, I was nervous about people making fun of me for braces. I was fighting with my mom and talking about Doctor Who with my friends. I was crying over classes and friend drama and bartering to buy fries at lunch

I was a kid. He is a kid.

He's not evil. He did an evil thing, yes. But saying "well, he was evil" dismisses the culpability of the adults.

I am not blaming teachers, or parents, or anyone in particular.

But to blame a child for the adults that failed him, to blame a child who felt his only option was to kill...

Maybe I'm alone in this. But it feels like a cop-out.

We failed him.

And through him, we failed all his victims.

Gun control now. Mental health supports now.

And fuck Mike Collins.

I was 20 minutes away from the Apalachee school shooting today…

CNN says that there was a call at the beginning of the school day saying that 5 schools would get shot up and supposedly mine was on the hit list.

Saw a post like this with negative outlook so I asked for it to be fixed
