WangXian AU
where Lan Zhan took a vow of silence after his mother died and now his fifteen and just met a very loud boy who speaks for both of themÂ

àč(ăăâ)à©â€ïžÂ Ê(Ëá”ËÊ ) àż
{Part 1}
âLan Zhan, Lan Zhan? Are you really not going to pay attention to me? What if I tried to run away, huh? What would you say to your uncle?âÂ
Wei Wuxian leaned further onto the table, head held by both of his hands as he hid a mischievous smile. Lan Wangji ignored him again, as expected.Â
He didnât give up, though. Heâs been trying to get a reaction from the other boy for three hours by now and he still had some time left before he could be released. He could swear his delicate hands were all calloused by how fast he forced himself to copy the Gusu Lan clanâs rules. Â
He purposely finished the copies faster than usual just so he could spend the rest of his time in the library trying to take a reaction out of Hanguang-jun.Â
Lan Qiren had punished him by being watched over by the other teenager for disturbing the classroom some time ago. Spending part of his days in the recesses of the clouds being watched and having his actions controlled wasn't exactly what he was planning for himself but it wasn't like he could control his mouth all the time!Â
To make things worse, the old man had intentionally chosen not only the most quiet and boring person Wei Wuxian had interacted with, but also the person who despised him most.
Since the first day they met, it was clear to everyone that Lan Wangji seemed to have taken a special dislike towards the boy. He didnât have to voice it, first because Lan Wangji wasnât the type of person that would go around expressing his dislikes and second of all he didnât speak. At all.
At first, Wei Wuxian had thought the boy was just ignoring them (and him, more specifically) and his personality was more quiet than most but then he realized that Lan Wangji just didnât talk, not even with his own brother or uncle.
He had followed the boy around for an entire day and the only time he had seen his lips part was during meals.Â
âWhy won't you speak?âÂ
He had approached him a month ago like this, getting out of his hiding place behind the trees and bushes covered in leaves. Jiang Cheng had been searching for him and he was pretty sure Lan Wangji heard them when his brother found him sneaking behind things to silently follow Lan Wangji.Â
Even after covering his brotherâs mouth with both of his hands, he knew by the way Lan Wangji stopped momentarily in his walk for some seconds before continuing as if he hadnât heard anything at all, that he was very aware of his presence.Â
He only stopped again when Wei Wuxian called him directly. Wei Wuxian couldnât say he wasnât disappointed when the only answer he received was half of a glaring stare towards him before Lan Wangji resumed his walk.
âReally, what were you thinking of? What if he got really angry at you this time and-â
âJiang Cheng.â Wei Wuxian turned around to look at Jiang Cheng and he sounded very serious, leaving his brother out of words for some seconds.
â...What is it now?â
âIâm hungry.â
â...â
Jiang Cheng blinked. He had to make sure he hadn't heard wrong. â...What?â
âAhh, I spent the whole day walking and waiting, I wasnât able to get a proper meal, so Iâm really hungry now!â He said putting one of his arms around Jiang Cheng.Â
âWei Wuxian! You- really!â
âIâm really hungry, yes, thank you for understanding. Letâs go grab something to eat before dinner.âÂ
Wei Wuxian knew Jiang Cheng wouldnât be able to understand how important it was for him to find out the reason behind Lan Wangjiâs silence.
Was he born like this? Or was that something that happened in some part of his life? An accident or the result of a fight? An opponent or a curse, maybe?? There were so many options, really, he just wanted to know why!
There was also the option that he was just ignoring people in general, too, though.Â
Even so, Wei Wuxian was sure that was a cool reason behind his silence.
That night, after dinner, he had run to search for his sister to ask her if she knew anything about it, he heard so many histories over Lan Wangji that he couldnât be sure which was true or false.Â

Listen to your elders
So last week I posted abut the importance of downloading your fic. And then three days later AO3 went down for 24 hours. No one was more weirded out by this than I was. But while yâall were acting like the library at Alexandria was on fire I was reading my download fic and editing chapter eight of Buck, Rogers, and the 21st Century. And also thinking about what I could do to be helpful when the crisis was actually over.
So first off, Iâm going to repeat that if youâre going to bookmark a fic, you really need to also download the fic and back it up in a safe place. I just do it automatically now and itâs a good habit to get into.
But letâs talk about some other scenarios. Last October I lost power for over a week after hurricane Ian. Apart from not having internet or A/C I did find plenty to do, I collect books so I had plenty to read, but maybe, unlike me, your favorite comfort reads arenât sitting on a bookshelf. So letâs do something about that, shall we?
In olden times many long years ago around 1995 we printed off a lot of fic. It was mostly SOP to print a fic you planned to reread and stick it in a three ring binder. And thatâs totally valid today too, but you can also make a very nice paperback with a minimum amount of skill and materials.
Letâs start with the download; Go to Ao3 and select your fic, weâll be working with one of mine. This method works best with one shots, long fic tends to need a more complicated approach. Get yourself an HTML download

Open up the HTML download and select all then copy paste into any word processor. Set the page to landscape and two columns, then change the font to something you find easy to read, this is your book, no judgement. This is all you have to do for layout but I like to play a little bit. I move all the meta, summary, notes to the end and pick out a fun font for the title:Â

No time like the present to do a quick proofread. Congratulations, youâve just created your first typeset. On to the fun part.
Now youâre going to need some materials:Â 8.5x11in paper ruler one sheet of 12x12 medium card stock (60-80lb) scissors pencil pen or fine tip marker sheet of wax paper white glue two binder clips 2 heavy books or 1 brick butter knife
Youâll also need a printer, if youâre in the US there is almost a 100% chance your local library has a printer you can use if you donât have your own. None of these materials are expensive and you can literally use cheap copy paper and Elmers glue.
Print your text block, one page per side. Fold the first page in half so that the blank side is inside and the printed side out:

use the butter knife to crease the edge. Repeat on all the sheets. When youâve finished, stack them up with the raw edge on the left and the folded edge on the right. I used standard copy paper, because youâre only printing on one side thereâs no bleed to worry about. Take the text block and line everything up. Use the binder clips to hold the raw edge in place.
Wrap the text block in the wax paper so that the raw edge and binder clips are facing out. Iâm going to use my home built book press but you donât need one, a brick or a couple of books or anything else heavy will work fine.

Once the text block is anchored down, take off he binder clips and get out the glue.

You can use a brush but you donât need one, smear some glue on that raw edge.
Go make a margarita, watch The Mandalorian, call your mother. Donât come back for at least an hour
In an hour smear some more glue on there and shift your brick forward so that the whole book is covered. This keeps the paper from warping. While glue part 2 is drying weâll do the cover. Get out your 12x12 cardstock

Mark the cardstock off at 8.5 inches and cut it. Measure in 5.5 inches from the left and put in a score line with the butter knife (the back edge not the sharp edge)
Carefully fold the score line, this is your front cover. You have some options for the cover title, you can use a cutting machine like a cricut if you have one, you can print out a title on the computer and use carbon paper to transfer the text to the cardstock. I was in a mood so I just freehanded that beoch. Pencil first then in pen.
Take your text block out from under your brick. Line it up against the score mark and mark the second score on the other side of the spine

Fold the score and glue the textblock into the cover at the spine. Once the glue dries up mark the back cover with the pencil and then trim the back cover to fit with your scissors.
Voila:

Iâm going to put this baby on the shelf next to the Silmarillion.
The whole process, not counting drying time, took less than an hour.
If you want to make a book of a longer fic, I recommend Renegade Publishing, they have a ton of resources for fan-binders.Â

Everytime Cucumber-bro thinks he's become numb to the nonsense flowing out of Great Master Airplane's mouth, the hack author immediately proceeds to prove him wrong.
Based from post:

I was on Youtube watching some shorts, then a stand up comedy came up and IT'S SIMPLY MOSHANG
Comedian: How long have you been together?
Woman: Three weeks.
Comedian: Three weeks! What are you doing here??
*audience laughter*
Comedian: I can tell you're a strong guy, do you go to the gym??
*The man of the couple nods*
Comedian: Of course it's from the gym! With this whey protein smell!
/
Comedian: How long have you been together?
Woman: He was my boss.
Comedian: He was your boss??
The audience lets out an "uuuuuuhhh" sound
Woman: That was 8 years ago!
Woman: And I resigned because he treated me badly.
*Sound of a crime show starts playing.*
Comedian: Good night. Case shocks a country. Man fucks with his employee's life. To the point of fucking her again eight years later!
Likeeeee??? This is basically Moshang??
