From That From That Old, Uh Classics Illustrated Comic Book. You Remember That?

From that— from that old, uh… Classics Illustrated comic book. You remember that?
I keep imagining Dean [who was really little himself back then] picking a comic book and reading slowly since he just learned how to, and Sam listening to every word, with so much admiration and love for his big brother, and how this must’ve made Dean feel… How much having Sam by his side, even as a baby, was important for his survival as well.

Imagine hearing the crunch of snow. We see boots making prints. The Party are walking in their winter wear, breaths seen in the cold air. We get looks from the other Hawkins citizens that are glaring at the "cult members", bitter that they must share the town with the Party when Chrissy and Jason should be alive, not them.
Mike didn't want Will to go, to move away, and now the Party’s back together in the absolute worst scenario possible. Targets on their backs, both supernatural, governmental, and societal.
He was right to hate high school.
BRO I CANT HANDLE IT ANYMORE MIKE IS SO AUTISTIC AND I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT IT 😭
The core of the painting lie isn't just "someone needs you". It's "someone sees you. Someone sees the love you give everything you do and receives it. Someone who you see as your hero sees you as theirs. You aren't as helpless as you think, you're helping. And someone sees that and feels it so deeply that they wanted to tell you even without knowing how you think of yourself. This painting was started months ago, months before you ever said you felt small, you were painted as empowered and strong. Someone sees you as you wish you were. All the things you feel bad about not being, someone thinks you already are."
Mike was made to feel reciprocated in a way he's never felt before, loved in the way that he loves. It reminds me of the quote "I only believe in love because of the way that I love". And that love was worth believing in in other people, and he is a receiver of that kind of love.
Mike and Will love in the same language.
And he thinks it's El.
7 byler moments where i felt like i was intruding (not including the fanart of them kissing on my homescreen that makes everyone watching me on my phone feel like they are third wheeling):
(not in any particular order)
the hospital scene where mike lay his head on will's chest. an intimate moment that was over quickly, but still just subtly earth-shattering
the married couple argument in season 3 while el and max were in the bathroom. you cannot convince me that lucas did not feel uncomfortable
that moment after "cool." "cool." where they were just gazing at each other with tears in their eyes, only to be interrupted
"it was the best thing i've ever done." because seriously, the eye contact, the tears, they baring of the souls?
"you're the heart". no, not the van monologue time, im talking about the other time. will's hand on mike's back. mike's frantic look at will, when he forgot everything else, just oh, he's beautiful. the moment will repeats himself and there's so much to be said on both sides, but mike turns away with that heartbroken look on his face
the hospital scene in season 2. just. everything.
"not possible." the smiles and the wistful lights. the implications and the thoughts in the silence. the longing.
yup, that's it. i know i missed all the iconic byler moments, but those were beyond making me feel like i was intruding, far beyond. (behold the power of two teenage boys).
people be saying “mike wheeler isn’t mentally ill. he’s just a bad person.” and acting like this man didn’t try to off himself in season one
