Ya know, this might sound silly but the Nomai are one of my favorite sci-fi species out there, and the whole reason is: they are KIND

Whenever an alien race is described in fiction as kind, it's just an informed attribute, or they're a bit too nice - weirdly perfectly so without any faults - or maybe they're not as nice as they seem to be

But the Nomai are just legitimately kind and benevolent and... They're so nice! The Universe was lucky to have their existence bless us. They're always so kind and so thoughtful of others, like how Coleous has them mine a different area so as to not disturb the proto-Hearthians lil pond life; or how Solanum is full of curiosity and eagerly greets this weird lil alien that just shows up to her in the Quantum Moon and has a nice chat with them; or how they implicitly were planning on staying in the system even after their Eye deal was over to watch if they interfered too much with the system, having apparently dug up and kept safe plants from the system

Even Pye, the most mad-scientist of them, still had that benevolence in their heart because they promised to NOT use the Sun Station unless they were 100% sure it'd not lead to disaster

And in the end, it was their kindness that allowed a conscious observer to enter the Eye
