Day-1 Today a couple people caught this new disease thing, I found out when my mom called me into the tv room. āHey Alice, come here. Thereās this disease no scientist can cureā she said. I walked out thinking āitās the year 3023, we have a cure for cancer and flying cars but no cure for thisā¦what does it even do anyways.ā Until I walked out and saw the tv. These people had just caught it 2/3 days ago and already their bodies where decaying as they were living in them. Scars everywhere, bleeding from all the scars, decaying alive bodies. I was scared..itās not cured and what if itās contagious? I dunno but my mom is calling me to help out.
Day-2 Those people with the disease and the scientists that found it were on tv again today. They looked depressed and mopey along with all the decaying and bleeding scars. I saw more bodies that time thoughā¦I think itās contagious. What is happening? How did this happen?? Iām not sure but I have to help out with Rupert (heās 4 but canāt go to sleep on his own..?) ok more information later.
Day-7 Sorry Iām so late but itās been kinda chAotic. People everywhere are catching this disease and once youāve caught it youāre screwed, no other way to say it. No cure means your chances of surviving drastically drop, those people that first caught it are looking more and more dead every day, I hope they find a cure soon.
Day-26 The people died. You have about a month to live after you catch this disease, but maybe longer now. My friends drug dealer (yeah I know not good but keep listening) found this certain drug that fights the disease, it doesnāt kill it but it can fight it. I only wish those people had known, maybe theyād still be alive now. Thinking about it now, would you really want to live like that? I havenāt caught it yet but Iāll probably buy the drugs now in case I do.
Day-37 My friend caught the disease. The one that has that drug dealer, heās got it for 6 days now. I wonder when Iāll get the disease, how much longer Iāll have to live and when Iāll die. Probably depressing talk but itās spreading and uncuredā¦I have a pretty good chance at dying at the age of 16.
Day-42 My mom caught it a couple days ago. Iām keeping Rupert away from her, I canāt let the both of them get infected at the same time. My dad caught it in the last wave, thatās what theyāre calling them, Waves. He was trying to use his techniques to cure it but instead got it. Everybody is getting the disease and my mom already looks like those first people. Iāve been buying the drug with her money for her, she could live longer. Not sure how much longer itāll last.
Day-54 Rupert caught it and so did I. My mom gave it to us and now Iām buying the drug for all of us. I caught t 2 days after Rupert. Iāve been taking care of all of us because Iām the most healthy I guess? I dunno but theyāre dying while alive, so am I.
Day-65
Everyone on Earth was infected with a disease with no cure. The only thing keeping humanity alive is a drug that fights the disease, but canāt kill it. When you run out of money to keep buying your daily dose, you notice something. Youāre not dead.
why did i decide everybody gets a painting from me for christmas (i am broke and had a plethora of canvases) (please help i still have 4 more to finish and decided to start 2 more for myself) I HAVE A TOTAL OF 13 TO BE FINISHED BY TOMORROW NIGHT I WONT HAVE MORE TIME TO PAINT AFTERWARDS AND I WORK IN THE MORNING
i just finished fablehaven š„² but the line Agad said about heaven and hell being not about the location BUT THE PEOPLE WHO INHABIT was RAW. AS. F.
The villagers were all tending to their morning chores-as usual. Watering the sheep, feeding the pigs, collecting eggs from the chickens, collecting water from the rivers and whatnot. Little Jeremy was helping his mother fetch the water when he felt the ground tremble. An earthquake? No, couldnāt beā¦could it? He had never been in one before, but the tremble happened again. A little bigger than before, and he could hear a thump with every followed tremble. He looked down and saw the water in the pails begin to rumble, he looked up at his mother and saw the most petrified look he had ever seen.
āShe hasnāt been back for years,ā Jeremyās mother said, āi didnāt think sheād returnā
She didnāt think who would return? The ground began to shake-much more than the tremble it was, the stomping increasing in sound and thats when he began to hear the screams. The villagers running to hide in their homes (though the elders knew it was pointless; when she came, there was no escaping), mothers picking up their children and running. They dropped what chores they were doing, none of it mattered now for if she was unsatisfied with her visitā¦there would be no more chores, thereād be no village.
āCome Jeremy, I need you to run as fast as you canā his mother started, but before they made it halfway to the house, he saw her. He stopped dead in his tracks-a REAL dragon! It was the most majestic fabled creature he had ever seen. He had heard stories in the past about the dragon who came to steal the precious gems, the jewels, the gold and silver of the villagersā¦but he had always thought it was just an old legend.
āVILLAGERSā it-she, demanded, āI WILL GIVE YOU UNTIL THE SUN IS DIRECTLY OVERHEAD TO BRING YOUR FINEST GEMSTONES JEWELS AND OR PRECIOUS METALS TO ME. IF I AM UNSATISFIEDā¦.I DONāT REALLY NEED TO FINISH MY THOUGHT DO I?ā
Her tail alone was 4 1/2 feet long, her scales as crimson as blood-each one of them glistened and sparkled in the sun. Her eyes were a beautiful amber gold, and her gaze was deadly.
As the time passed, the villagers rummaged through every drawer, every hiding spot, every jewelry box. They worked quickly and lined up in front of the dragon when they had everything that was demanded of them. Jeremy didnāt hear much over the dragons snores (she decided to nap while she waited), but he caught snippets of conversation among the villagers.
āShe hasnāt been here for years-ā
āWhy now?ā
āI always thought she was just a myth-a legendā
He was so conflicted with emotions; one the one hand-this was the coolest thing he had ever experienced in his life so far, but on the other-he had never been so terrified in his life. Heād heard the stories growing up, he knew what terrible fate awaited them should she be unhappyā¦it doesnāt matter now. The sun is directly overhead, and the dragon was awaking.
āSoā¦what did you bring me?ā She said with a sneer. She beckoned the first villager in line forward, and examined what was brought. The villager got on to her knees and bowed, holding the gold and silver jewelry above her head. Jeremy hadnāt seen this dragon for more than half a day, but he knew a dissatisfied look when he saw one.
āWhat? No precious jewels? No gemstones?! NOT EVEN A MERE TRINKET? Why do you dare disrespect me so?ā The dragon exclaimed.
Jeremy began to daydream as time went on. The line moved slowly, and no matter what was brought forward, the dragon remained unhappy. He got pretty bored of it after a while.
Jeremy began to ponder a few questions about the dragon; what was her name? Why did she wait years in between her trips-did she live far and it took that long to get back and forth? Why was she so unhappy-did the villagers do a great disservice to the dragon race at some point? Were all dragons this rude and unhappy?? The list of questions goes on and on, flowing like a powerful river through his mind.
The dragon, having seemingly been satisfied with her haul, left shortly after the last villagers brought their āgiftsā. That night, the village elders held a meeting at the center of the village-what they called center circle. Jeremy, of course, was there.
Not there there, it was strictly elders only, but he was sitting outside by the window-listening to every word. He was the first to hear the final decision, and was gone before it was even announced to the villagers. He would leave a boy and returnā¦a knight! They needed someone to slay the dragon, so she could never return and threaten or harm the village again. Jeremy would be that person.
He left through the woods, knowing it was the quickest way to the mountains. He realized shortly after leaving though, that he shouldāve packed a bit better and possibly left in the morning. The woods were bad enough during the day, but at night? What was he thinking?
By midday the next morning, Jeremy was halfway to the mountains. He thought he ought to look for a cave or somethingā¦some shelter where he could rest. After all, he was young and he wasnāt used to not sleeping all night. A few hundred feet more and he noticed a small ācaveā- if it could even be called that. He decided to investigate further, he was exhausted and needed a place to rest.
Nearing the entrance, he started to notice something peculiar. Now he had never been outside of the village, not through to forrest much less to the mountains. He didnāt know what caves normally sounded like, but he was sure it didnāt sound like snoring.
Wait-snoring? Did he just unintentionally find the dragons cave?! He wouldāve never thought sheād live here, it was too small for a huge dragon. At least, thatās what Jeremy thought before he got closer. The entrance was small, but once you got through it, the cave was ginormous! There were piles upon piles of precious metals and jewels, anything looking to be valuable.
As he started to look around more, Jeremy realized that the piles were sort of organized. In the back right side of the cave, there were the bigger piles. Everything looked to have been there a while, collecting dust and whatnot. But to the left, there were smaller piles, newer piles. Piles full of the trinkets and treasures received just days prior from his village. He had found the dragons lair all right, now he just needed to come about the slaying.
He was quick on his feet, moving as quietly as he could. Not quite sure what he was going to do, he knew catching her sleeping now would be the chance he would get. He neared the dragon, and raised his dagger (a sword would have been better, but he didnāt actually know how to wield one), but then he saw something else.
Curled up under the wing of the dragon, was a much smaller dragon. Her kin. Thats why she came to the village after having been gone for so longā¦she was starting her childās trust fund. He couldnāt kill a mother, he just simply couldnāt. What would he do if someone were to kill his mother? He wouldnāt do that to another kid. The choice ceased to be his anyway when he dropped his dagger.
The dragon woke immediately upon hearing the dagger clang on the ground. Without a second thought, she swallowed Jeremy whole.
āI was ready for a second child anyways,ā She mused, āIād better start your collection of treasures now too, little one.ā
A dragon has been demanding tribute of gold from a small village for years. And when they finally hire a slayer to deal with it, the slayer finds a dragon thats barely a hatchling
