“the problem is its never gonna be what all the fans want” imo the problem is the majority of fans have bad fucking taste like. if you write a story with the intent to keep editing it in line with what fans want you’re gonna end up with a shitty story. obviously you can take in criticism from early access but once you publish the thing you shouldn’t constantly be retconning characterization wtf. good god

Been working on my self indulgent oc/self insert mk11 fic and just felt like sharing my progress. First chapter is over 5000 words and I'm wanting to keep that consistent for all chapters.

Btw, does anyone else get self-conscious about their word count? I always feel like my stuff reads too fast lol. Plus, I don't think I'm that great a writer, especially when it comes to description and such 😓 Like, I wanna have fun writing my big fics like this one, but then I start comparing my stuff to others and get frustrated even though I know I'm writing for myself for the most part. It also sucks because it takes so much energy for me to write.
