A reminder to my friends and followers who have a uterus and experience menstruation regardless of gender identity:

- If you are still able to menstruate (as in not menopausal) please consider finding and accessing a long term form of birth control if you are able

- For my FTM followers- please do not depend on your hormone therapy as your long term birth control plan. It is very difficult to say how states will regulate gender affirming treatments. If you are able and willing, please consider something like the copper IUD. As always, discuss with a doctor.

- For ANYONE who currently has a period and is using any app to help track their cycle- STOP. IMMEDIATELY. Do NOT record your cycle, especially in apps that can be sued and forced to hand over information. The less someone can access this information, the better. Especially if you are extremely regular.

This includes any pre loaded health app on your phone, your FitBit, ANYTHING. The last thing you want to do is have a record of how often you cycle accessible and for sale or for subpoena.

- Memorize the following sentence- “I will not be speaking without my attorney present.” MEMORIZE the name and number of an attorney- if you can afford to have one on retainer, do so. If not, I recommend researching legal aid options. The state is only required to provide you an attorney if you are ARRESTED. If you are detained for questioning but not CHARGED? Do not answer their questions. Ever. EVER.

Research your legal rights re: law enforcement and practice how you will respond should you ever be arrested or detained. It is critical to rehearse and prepare and to know what rights you DO have, their applications, and limitations. And above all else- never “cooperate” with their investigation.

Cops are looking to close cases, not truly investigate. They are not your friends and they are not on your side. Protect yourself with knowledge.

-Last but not least- take care of yourself today. However that self care looks. You are VITAL. You are IMPORTANT. Fuck the government. Take care of YOU because YOU deserve it. YOU have inherent worth and value that no one can strip. Honor that. I love you.
