You have "hi-cut" and "briefs" which are everywhere even though not wearable with 90% of contemporary pants because low waists are the default these days, and they feel very wrong if you're used to anything else. You have "thong" which does not really protect your more delicate cargo from the elements. Then you have "boyshort" which seems the most comfortable but has a weird amount of variation in cut and fit and is often way too tight and chafing in the crotch area.

Clothes and menstrual pads are made assuming you are wearing "bikini" style, but stores always stock all the styles in equal amounts, as if they have equal utility.
