             years  of  manners  lessons  seemed  to  fail  him  at  that  moment,  but  it  was  common  for  mattieu  to  simply  ..  stare  when  he  lost  his  train  of  thought.  curt  words  snapped  him  out  of  the  hopeless  journey  through  his  mind,  body  all  but  flinching  as  if  its  spirit  were  snapping  back  into  its  shell.  lashes  fluttering,  he  laughed  a  bit  nervously  and  did  in  fact  listen,  turning  away  somewhat  ..  only  to  glance  back  in  the  woman’s  direction.    ❝  sorry  i  just  ..  you  have  really  nice  hair  ?  wait  —  ❞  good  going  idiot.  that’s  exactly  what  he  was  trying  not  to  say.    ❝  i  mean — god,  i  need  to  lay  off  the  coffee  ..  i  meant  that  you  look  familiar,  somehow  ?  ❞  he  stammered  somewhat  uselessly.
