I Have To Say It Does Make Me Really Depressed And Even More Worried For The Future That Any Human Being
I have to say it does make me really depressed and even more worried for the future that any human being is actually capable of thinking we should eliminate all forms of violence from all wild animal species. The first time I saw someone saying this I thought they were satirizing PETA or something, inventing an extreme conclusion to animal rights as a joke. Now I know it's a real philosophical movement increasingly popular with a bunch of rich tech people who go around giving speeches at universities about how we should just flood the natural world with GMO's to try and "herbivorize predators," wipe out all parasites, cure all disease, eliminate aging and remove just all forms of pain or even competition from all ecosystems. "But that will just DESTROY those ecosystems" you say. Yeah they know and they want that too. They call nature things like "The Darwinian House of Horrors" and dream of a future where the entire planet is a tightly controlled, deathless biotech zoo. "But we shouldn't worry because that's impossible anyway" yes, yes it is, but it's entirely possible to release genetically altered organisms into the wild and these people already talk about "starting small" with CRISPR experimentation. There's already corporations testing GM mosquitoes that can't bite anymore. As soon as any of these fuckoffs get access to enough money and backing they're going to attempt that with an eagle or a shark or a big cat, and they're probably going to find out the hard way that their idea won't work the way they want it to but in the meantime they'll quite possibly cause an extinction or two, and then they're going to just keep trying it again. This is in their little ted talks and thinkpieces. They think everything's already doomed anyway and that if they accidentally wipe out a species it just won't matter because extinctions are natural and at least that species is no longer suffering. They call their movement things like "compassionate biology" and "effective altruism," in case you're wondering what to look out for. They've got all sorts of web communities for it, like this one. but before you go thinking they're just animal rights fanatics, DON'T WORRY! They do in fact include humans in their plans! They think gene editing should also be put towards the eradication of all disability, neurodivergence, or maybe even "capacity for cruelty" in humans! They sit around wanking all day about their eugenicist dream zombie utopia :) :) :) did I mention lots of them are actually rich with actual corporate and academic connections lololol

I think we, as a species, could avoid so many unnecessary distress if we see physical intimacy (or maybe just intimacy in general) amongst ourselves like that of cats
No one gives a shit when cats pile up on top of each other or kiss each other or cuddle or hug. It's just what they do. It's cute but otherwise no big deal. No one's mulling over the implications of a cat kissing or hugging or cuddling each other. No one makes a big deal when some cats would rather be left alone either. No one deems either inappropriate or against the law of nature or whatever. It's just behaviours, and there are other things to be concerned about in this world than what it means when cats kiss each other or when they don't
like what happened to "women are capable of doing everything men can do". If this statement is true the reverse is also true. It doesn't mean they necessarily do but they could. Thats like THE feminist statement in my mind its the most important one and radfems are actively rejecting it. There is nothing but superficial differences between us!!! "Men" and "women" are fictions used to organize society and power in a specific way they're not essential truths. We can go from one to the other freely and easily because we are essentially the same. The massive gulf between us in modern society is political, its not in anyway concrete, essential or biological.
if you have violent intrusive thoughts I love you. if you have sexual intrusive thoughts I love you. if you have bigoted intrusive thoughts I love you. you are not your thoughts and you are worthy of love and care and help and affection. you are not a monster you’re a person going through it and that’s okay
I’m reading a paper that uses the term re-transition as opposed to detransition and it crystallised a lot of my problems with the term. detransition implies an ability to return to the “default” “normal” cisgender body that lurks within all of us, just waiting to be re-excavated after a period of intentional (deceitful) burial, and a turning “back” or away from the freakish mutilation and “deviance” of transgender transition to a more natural, more authentic body - a body that can never be transformed, only temporarily cloaked by medicine and social trickery on the part of trans people
You've seen this message around, yeah? No doubt you've seen that one post telling you to add a few filters to your adblock, but maybe that's stopped working recently. Well I'm here to tell you, don't do that! You may be actively preventing yourself from getting around the anti-adblock!
Here's the skinny: Youtube's anti-adblock is not very sophisticated. It really is incredibly easy to bypass, but Youtube is continually changing how you get around it to try and stay ahead of the guys maintaining adblock. The good news, though, is that uBlock's volunteers are constantly updating the default uBlock filters to get around that!
If you want to get around YouTube's anti-adblock, you need to follow the instructions from the official uBlock origin team here.
DO NOT manually input any filters!!! Youtube regularly changes how to get around those, so you WILL be up shit creek when those filters become obsolete!!!
In addition, since Youtube regularly updates the anti-adblock to require a new set of filters, there are periods where the filter maintainers haven't quite caught up yet and uBlock fails again. Don't worry; this never lasts for very long. I've seen the "YouTube doesn't allow adblock" message maybe once in the past few months and it went away after ten minutes.
Please spread this post around instead of the other one!!! The other post explaining how to bypass anti-adblock is incorrect, and I must reiterate, may actively obstruct attempts to bypass Youtube's adblock!!!
