Friendly reminder to also discuss health issues and concerns with your subs! One of my subs has very severe asthma, for example, and I have sat down and written out ideas for how to safely accommodate his desire for choking around this, including requiring that his inhaler be visible and within reach during a scene, that he give me a rundown of administering it beforehand, limits on situations in which I will and will not attempt breathplay with him, etc.

Part of being a good dom is knowing your sub and health issues are at the top of that list. This applies more broadly also to if your sub has chronic pain, flexibility issues, etc. Make sure you have a good grasp of their physical limits, know how far you can safely and comfortably skirt those limits, and don't be afraid to assert your own comfort as a dom if they push those limits in a way you aren't prepared for, comfortable with, or educated enough to account for. This is a RACK blog but you can't forget that Risk Aware means knowing Risk Mitigation.
