"One Piece gets good at episode 400!!!" is a shit take that only exists because shonen meatriders who couldn't appreciate the story for what it is,skipped 100s of episodes and only watched the part of the series that had a major war with several strong guys punching each other in it.

One Piece is a story about adventure, friendship and dreams.The premise of the story is that of a 17 year old boy setting sail to gather himself a pirate crew ,go on adventures and fulfill his dream of finding the world's biggest treasure, the One Piece.

It's natural for the story to be slow at the start because that's part of the journey. The first saga focuses on Luffy,the protagonist, gathering his first 4 crew members afterall. (It doesn't even take that long for him to gather them,the 5th Straw Hat is introduced around episode 20 and that's were the story starts to pick up significantly).

Anyways if you ever watch One Piece and find yourself not enjoying it, it's not because "the story only gets good 300 episodes later" it's because you simply don't find yourself enjoying this series. There is no reason to force yourself to continue it or buy into the crap that it only gets better much later.
