i saw someone say “imagine if Finney held onto the phone in hopes that one day Robin would call again”

Y’all...

Robin almost wasn’t in the phone call scene. 

“In the script, Robin wasn’t in the room. It was just a phone call. A day or two before we shot that … it suddenly hit me out of nowhere. I was like, ‘Oh, the audience wants to see that kid again. We got to see him again. It’s not going feel right if we don’t see him again.’ I was like, 'Where’s that kid?’ and they were like, 'We just flew him home.’ I was like, 'Get him back. You got to fly him back.’”

Could you imagine how much less emotional and powerful that scene would have been if Miguel wasn’t in it? If Robin wasn’t actually there when he told Finn that he never left, it wouldn’t have made any sense at all. I can’t even wrap my head around why they would have even considered doing it without him there.

Who up thinking about what robins realization would be when he realizes that finney is the one whos been taken next.. his face would fall He'd be absolutely DESTROYED And the time he took to call shows that. he knows that if he had called earlier then it wouldnt have had as much power, he needed to be there right as finney was about to give up. The pause between "i miss you robin" and "then get out for me." Robin wanted to say it so badly But he needed to put finneys safety over them being together again throughout the whole movie he only wanted to keep finney safe and thats exactly what he did i feel sick
