I feel like this needs to be said:

You may not like Dad for One; you make think Hisashi is a two bit villain, a deadbeat, a scientist, some top hero commission guy or even an ordinary man.

But let's be real, out of all those possibilities, out of all those speculations. Every theory that tries to decipher who the Mysterious Hisashi Midoriya could be...

Dad for One is the only one, that has the most solid. Canonical. Evidence behind it.

And even if you hate the theory, you can't deny that.

Be DFO true or not, the utter lack of Midoriya Hisashi in BNHA is just goddamn weird.

It would be one thing if BNHA was a series where we rarely see parents or they rarely had major roles. However, that's not the case. Not in the slightest. Obviously there's the Todofam everything. We've seen both of Bakugou's parents. We've seen maternal grandparents in the cases of both Shigaraki and the Todorokis. We've seen the parents of secondary and tertiary characters.

But we haven't seen the father of the protagonist a single time?

It's made all the more weird because Hisashi is supposedly alive, yet also Inko never seems to speak with her husband. Every single major parental decision in Izuku's life that we've seen as of him being at UA? She's the only one making them. You'd imagine something as important as say, potentially yanking your kid out of his high school would be something you'd discuss with your husband, but no indication that happened (like say her making a comment about needing to tell Hisashi she'd changed her mind after speaking with All Might). We've got no pictures of him in the apartment. Izuku, when thinking about people he cares about at one point includes goddamn Endeavor, but not his own father. When he almost dies he thinks of his mom and All Might, but not his father.

And Izuku does latch onto like, any adult man who seems to show vaguely paternal or mentor...feelings(?) towards him. Dadmight is a trope for a reason. He treats Gran Torino as a borderline grandparent figure (which speaking of, where are Izuku's grandparents? Though that long term could be revealed to be a result of the Quirkless diagnosis, that they cut Inko and Izuku out of their lives). Again, does actually weirdly latch onto Endeavor more than you'd expect (which is to say, at all) .Like that could simply be a result of Hisashi being overseas and a non-entity in Izuku's life.

So like...why is that? What is going on with Midoriya Hisashi that Horikoshi won't even reference him properly in the manga, just in like outside stuff (including a comment at one point about how Hisashi would be revealed, rather than introduced which is an...interesting word choice.) Does he eventually plan on revealing that Hisashi all but walked out on the family due to Izuku's Quirklessness, only sending them back money? Does he plan on DFO? Is there something else? Am I overthinking shit because it's almost 2am and my brain won't shut up?

 Hey, to you sci-fi/fantasy writers out there (and maybe some others, but this is mainly for things that can’t really be researched irl), if you want to write a character who is a driven, passionate expert on something, don’t write about them rambling indifferently about some boring, mundane part of it. Give them a deep, intense hatred of some oddly specific wow-I-did-not-even-know-that-was-a-thing-and-it-would-have-never-occurred-to-me-that-it’s-a-bad-thing thing they’ll gladly rant about.

 Write a dragon rider who really fucking hates it when a dragon is trained to bow while being reined. A space ship engineer who is pissed off when perfectly good antimatter ship has been adapted to run on neutral matter. A historian who is still not over the massive failures of a general who lost a specific battle 300 years before she was born.

 The guy currently giving us a series of lectures on the restoration of historical buildings really, really hates polymer paint. At the artisan school our stained glass teacher really hated this one specific Belgian artist - we never really figured out what did that guy even do, but he’s been dead for over 200 years and our teacher was glad that at least he’s dead.

 Experts don’t just know things you’ve never thought about. They’ve got strong opinions about it.

AU where Deku's original quirk was the ability to see/talk to/interact with dead people. They found out because a few months after Izuku was diagnosed as being quirkless, the Midoriya and Bakugou households' were having lunch together only for him to greet the Dark-Skinned woman with sharp red eye's just like Auntie Mitzuki standing in the corner smiling at them, with tears slipping down her elderly face.

Not even 30 mins later of Izuku talking to one Jasmine Bakugou, Mitsuki is receiving a phone call and told her mother passed away almost an hour ago.

tears are shed, but the adults know the boy had not been lying for the simple fact he had never seen Mitsuki's mother a day in his life. She had just left not a week ago after her mother had fallen ill, and came back for the sole fact that she knew her mother wanted to be left alone.

this leads to years of Izuku and Katsuki growing up wanting to be the worlds best Detective/Hero duo the world has ever seen, but they never change the fact that Izuku is labled quirkless. this saves his life seeing as he learns the darkest secret he and his best friend will ever know. AU may spit out the best hero's.... but they also train the worlds worst villain's.

Que Dekusquad really being plugs from of the unknown class 1V and Shinso being apart of 1a... Izuku is in GenEd, and finds out after he sees a grape headed boy, and the child tells him he was killed apart of the first exercise from the villains class about 20 years ago, and he's stuck around until his murderers are caught..... Aizawa-Sensei, Midnight-Sensei, Present Mic-Sensei, and a man named Oboro.... or what they WERE known as X-Out, Enchantress, Ear-Splitter, and Thunder-Clap aka Kurogiri

I just got hit in the face by the idea that is some secondary BNHA multiverse, there is an OFA that was literally only ever given to people with durability quirks

A comic about the spectrum of responses to stress - we talk alot about the more extreme ends of this and trauma, but the more subtle and every day responses can be harder to spot. if we can understand our own and other’s responses better, problems Are easier to confront and blaming is less likely to happen :) hope it’s helpful!!
