          mike  had  hardly  been  known  for  his  upper  body  strength.  gym  class  always  left  him  winded—though  the  asthma  didn’t  help—and  he  knew  that  he  had  noodle  arms.  so,  maybe  he  put  more  momentum  behind  his  swing  than  intended  when  he  hit  the  guy  over  the  head  with  a  shovel,  but  he  hadn’t  thought  it  would  be  enough  to  actually  kill  him.

          “ really,  lee ?  with  children  around ? ”  she’s  teasing…mostly.  but  she’s  also  mildly  offended  that  he’s  pretending  like  he  doesn’t  know  coffee  when  he  sees  it.  sure,  it’s  not  the  best  quality,  nor  does  she  have  anything  special  to  put  in  it,  but,  honestly,  she  doesn’t  really  care.  while  at  one  time  she  might’ve  been  picky  about  the  caffeine  she  consumed,  she’ll  take  what  she  can  get  these  days…  even  if  it  is  being  cooked  in  an  empty,  rinsed  out,  large  bean  can  over  their  campfire.
