          she’s  in  the  middle  of  pulling  her  pants  up,  fastening  them  as  she  hears  luke’s  question.  kate  isn’t  typically  the  type  to  do  one  night  stands,  though  it  has  been  known  to  happen.  this  just  so  happens  to  be  one  of  those  times,  but  it's  different  in  a  way.  she’s  never  been  asked  her  name  after  the  fact.  her  partner  either  knew  before  they  even  did  anything  or  she  could  sneak  out  before  any  awkward  small  talk  had  to  be  exchanged.

          “ got  some  real  southern  charm  there,  don’t  you ? ”  she  teases,  grabbing  her  shirt  to  tug  it  down,  over  her  head.  the  truth  is,  he  had  been  rather  kind  to  her,  and  he  didn’t  seem  like  the  crazy  stalker  type…

          “ edwin ! ”  niko  chirps  as  her  eyes  look  up  from  her  manga,  letting  the  book  flip  closed  and  setting  it  over  on  her  nightstand  as  edwin  approaches.  she  listens,  watching  with  interest,  eyes  flickering  from  his  face  to  what  he  holds  in  his  hands,  and  nods.

          taking  the  box  from  him,  she  scoots  over  on  her  bed  to  make  room,  patting  the  spot  beside  her.  her  bright  gaze  studies  the  plastic  box  a  few  moments  more  before  she  says,  “ it’s  okay,  i’m  actually  somewhat  of  an  expert  when  it  comes  to  crafts. ”  she  dares  not  to  think  back  to  the  mishap  with  jenny  and  her  stalker,  much  less  speak  it  out  loud.

          ridding  her  mind  of  the  thought,  she  instead  beams  at  edwin.  “ i  didn’t  know  you  liked  friendship  bracelets !  that’s  so  cute !  who  are  we  making  one  for ? ”  she  has  a  few  ideas  of  a  few  certain  people  who  would  probably  love  to  receive  a  bracelet  from  edwin,  but  she  keeps  the  thought  to  herself…for  now.

          carefully,  she  opens  the  box  and  sorts  the  supplies,  gaze  flitting  to  edwin  momentarily  as  she  asks,  “ or  let  me  rephrase—who  are  we  making  one  for  first ? ”

"hello, niko," edwin announces as he phases through her door, a small box tucked underneath his arm. "i have somewhat of a proposition for you, if you'll be so inclined to indulge me for a moment? i was introduced to the concept of friendship bracelets, and after doing some research, i inquired crystal to purchase one for me. it, uh- took a bit of persuading, but... here." 

he extends the clear plastic box towards her; a bracelet making kit, containing the essentials of multicolored beads, string and assembly tools inside. a pensive look crosses his features, suddenly shy and consciously out of his element.

"i am... quite unfamiliar with the mechanics of constructing such accessories, and, well... i was hoping perhaps you would assist me...?"
